Job Summary

HeiGIT (Heidelberg Institute for Geoinformation Technology) conducts research on and with geographic information and makes it freely available for the benefit of the environment and society for example for researchers aid organizations and associations.

We are looking for a student assistant (8-10 h/week) to support our TIGr-Team as soon as possible.

  • Geodata processing analysis and visualization
  • Assistance with data maintenance and data preparation
  • Creation of maps and reports for ongoing projects
  • Contribution to spatial analyses
  • Currently pursuing a degree in geography geoinformatics or a related field
  • Practical experience working with GIS software (e.g. QGIS ArcGIS Jupyter Notebooks)
  • Basic knowledge of databases (e.g. PostgreSQL/PostGIS) is a plus
  • A meticulous structured and self-reliant work style
  • Flexible working hours perfect alongside your studies
