Accounting Analyst (Greece)

Position Overview

The ideal candidate will have strong hands-on accounting experience excellent knowledge of Greek tax requirements and solid understanding of invoicing and reconciliation procedures. The role supports the daytoday bookkeeping activities and ensures compliance with local accounting and tax regulations.

Key Responsibilities

Accounting & Bookkeeping

• Perform daily accounting entries in accordance with Greek GAAP.
• Maintain general ledger accounts and ensure timely monthend and yearend closings.
• Process accounts payable (AP) and accounts receivable (AR).
• Manage fixed assets and depreciation schedules.

Tax Compliance & Audits

• Handle VAT returns withholding taxes stamp duties and other statutory obligations.
• Prepare documentation and support external/internal tax audits.
• Ensure accuracy and compliance with Greek tax legislation.

• Monitor and update MyDATA e-books for all relevant transactions.
• Ensure alignment of invoicing records with tax authorities digital requirements.

Reconciliations

• Conduct monthly bank reconciliations and follow up on outstanding items.
• Reconcile supplier and customer statements.
• Investigate discrepancies and propose corrective actions.

Banking & Payments

• Monitor cash flow and prepare payment proposals.
• Execute bank transactions and maintain updated records.
• Liaise with banks regarding accounts documents and payment issues.

Reporting

• Assist in preparing management reports and financial statements.
• Support budgeting and forecasting processes.

Qualifications & Skills

• Bachelors degree in Accounting Finance or related field.
• 35 years of relevant accounting experience (preferably in a corporate environment).
• Strong knowledge of Greek accounting standards and tax legislation.
• Experience with MyDATA and ERP/accounting systems.
• Excellent MS Excel skills.
• Strong analytical skills attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines.
• Excellent command of Greek and English (written and spoken).
