Senior Commercial Underwriter - Southern California (REMOTE)
Summary
Seniorlevel commercial underwriting role for an experienced professional who can independently underwrite complex risks while acting as a technical and consultative resource. This position offers strong autonomy agency interaction and strategic influence within an assigned territory.
Key Responsibilities
- Independently underwrite and price complex commercial risks within established authority
- Analyze financials loss history inspections and market data to support underwriting decisions
- Serve as a technical advisor to underwriting peers sales teams and agency partners
- Build and maintain strong agency relationships and support complex negotiations
- Manage territory portfolio performance and new business production
- Monitor market trends and contribute to underwriting strategy and innovation
- Mentor and share expertise to support team development
Qualifications
- Bachelors degree required; insurance designations (CPCU ARM etc.) preferred
- 38 years of commercial underwriting experience including complex accounts
- Strong analytical consultative and communication skills
- Ability to operate independently with advanced underwriting authority
- Willingness to travel regularly within assigned territory
