About Helix Aviation Academy: Helix Aviation Academy is a STEM-focused public charter school within the Helix Community Schools network dedicated to empowering students through rigorous academics real-world learning and innovative technology integration.

Position Overview: The 1st Grade Teacher will be responsible for creating and implementing engaging lesson plans aligned with curriculum standards fostering a safe and positive classroom environment and supporting the academic and emotional growth of each student. The ideal candidate will bring enthusiasm creativity and a deep commitment to early childhood education.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and deliver standards-based lessons in reading writing math science and social studies
• Differentiate instruction to meet diverse learning needs and styles
• Assess student progress regularly and communicate results with parents and guardians
• Create a warm respectful and inclusive classroom culture
• Collaborate with grade-level teams support staff and administration
• Integrate technology and innovative teaching practices into daily instruction
• Participate in professional development and school community events

Additional Expectations:

• All staff are expected to sponsor one club or Enrichment during school hours when scheduled. Additional pay is not provided as this is a part of every teachers job role.
• All teachers who teach at Helix Community Schools will be expected to constantly grow in the use of technology to enhance student learning because we are a part of Verizon Innovative Learning Schools and genuinely believe in digital equity for our students.

Qualifications:

• Bachelors degree in Education or a related field (Masters preferred)
• Valid state teaching certification for elementary education
• Minimum of 3 years of full-time teaching experience preferably in a 1st grade or early elementary classroom
• Strong knowledge of child development and early literacy/numeracy best practices
• Excellent classroom management communication and organizational skills
• Passion for teaching and a commitment to student success
