Position Summary
The Mechanical Engineer II will support the design development and startup of custom process equipment in a manufacturing environment. This role works cross-functionally with engineering operations and technical teams to deliver high-performance equipment solutions from concept through installation and debug.
Key Responsibilities
Design and develop custom process equipment and mechanical systems
Lead procurement efforts and coordinate with machine shops and vendors
Oversee equipment assembly installation and startup/debug activities
Own full design lifecycle: concept detailed design and drawing packages
Collaborate with cross-functional teams (mechanical electrical controls process etc.)
Apply mechanical engineering principles including thermodynamics materials science and machine design
Support troubleshooting and optimization of equipment performance
QualificationsRequired:
Bachelors or Masters degree in Mechanical Engineering Mechatronics or Mechanical Technology
Minimum 3 years of manufacturing engineering experience
Experience with mechanical equipment design installation startup and debug
Proficiency in SolidWorks and EPDM Vault
Experience working with machine shops and custom equipment procurement
Strong communication and collaboration skills
Ability to work independently and adapt in evolving environments
Preferred / Specialized Experience:
Knowledge of roll-to-roll (web conveyance) system design
Experience with thermal equipment design
Proficiency in structural and thermal FEA modeling
Exposure to multi-disciplinary engineering environments
Candidates must be eligible to work in the U.S. for at least 18 months from start date
