Manager Sales Trader
Job Summary
Job Purpose : The Manager Institutional Trading Desk will lead and manage the institutional trading desk at ABML overseeing execution institutional client coverage and day-to-day desk operations. The role includes managing a team of 3 Institutional Sales Traders ensuring strong service delivery regulatory compliance and consistent revenue growth.
KRAs :
A) Desk Leadership & Team Management (Core)
- Lead mentor and manage a team of 3 Institutional Sales Traders to deliver high-quality execution and client service.
- Set desk KPIs (volumes revenue client activity hit ratios service metrics) and drive performance reviews and coaching.
- Allocate client coverage and ensure efficient coordination across sales trading and dealing functions.
- Maintain high standards of conduct controls and escalation practices across the desk.
B) Institutional Sales Trading & Execution Management (Core)
- Oversee execution strategy for institutional orders (cash equities and related products as applicable) balancing best execution market impact and client instructions.
- Partner with dealing/OMS/operations teams to ensure smooth trade lifecycle management (order placement to confirmation).
- Monitor market conditions liquidity and client flows; provide actionable trade ideas and execution guidance to the team.
- Ensure adherence to best execution policies and trading controls (as applicable to the firm and regulatory framework).
C) Client Relationship Management & Service (Core)
- Manage key institutional client relationships (FIIs DIIs PMS AIFs HNIs via institutions corporates as applicable).
- Drive client engagement through market commentary trade support and periodic performance/service reviews.
- Identify opportunities to grow wallet share via superior service responsiveness and execution quality.
- Coordinate with research/corporate access/prime or margin teams (where relevant) to enhance institutional offering.
D) New Client Acquisition
- Identify pitch and onboard new institutional clients aligned with the firms target segments and risk appetite.
- Build a prospect pipeline lead introductory meetings and coordinate onboarding documentation and approvals with compliance/operations.
- Develop and execute a structured acquisition plan (segment focus value proposition coverage strategy revenue targets).
E) Risk Compliance & Controls (Critical)
- Ensure full compliance with regulatory requirements exchange rules internal controls and ethical trading standards.
- Monitor and manage operational risks: order errors limit breaches restricted lists information barriers and communications.
- Maintain audit-ready records and ensure timely reporting/escalation of incidents or breaches.
F) Reporting & Business Management
- Track daily/weekly/monthly performance metrics (volumes brokerage client activity top accounts concentration profitability).
- Prepare management dashboards and contribute to business planning budgeting and product/coverage strategy.
- Support process improvements automation initiatives and OMS/workflow enhancements to improve desk efficiency.
