Job Summary

3 months contract with a local authority

Job Purpose

  • To lead develop and deliver a highly effective Housing Advice and Options service that prevents homelessness reduces reliance on temporary accommodation and ensures the Council meets its statutory duties under homelessness legislation.

Key Duties/Accountabilities

  • Lead and manage the delivery and performance of the Housing Advice and Options service ensuring compliance with homelessness legislation statutory guidance and case law.
  • Ensure timely and effective homelessness assessments through a robust triage and preventionfocused service.
  • Oversee the procurement development and continuous improvement of housing advice and homelessness case management systems.
  • Monitor service performance against KPIs ensuring accurate data collection and highquality reporting.

Essential Experience Required

  • Extensive uptodate knowledge of homelessness legislation and its practical application.
  • Proven experience managing housing or homelessness services within a local authority or similar environment.
  • Demonstrable success in performance management and service improvement.

Essential Qualifications Required

  • Degreelevel qualification or a relevant professional housing qualification or equivalent experience.
  • Evidence of continued professional development.
  • Membership of the Chartered Institute of Housing (CIH) (desirable).

Additional information to note

  • Working Hours: 37 hours per week.
  • 3 Months Potential for longer
  • Enhanced DBS with barred list required.
  • The job role is office based main base is in Kettering but may be required to travel to Corby or Kettering to meet needs of service and attend meetings etc. We can offer one day a week at home only we will therefore need someone who is local or willing to travel
  • We work on bi-weekly schedule.
