Summer Teen Internship Arapahoe Libraries

Are you curious about a library career Arapahoe Libraries is hiring four teens for a two-month paid internship this summer. The goal of our program is to introduce students from diverse backgrounds to opportunities for careers in libraries.

Through a summer of mentored learning with our librarians participants in this program will engage in different types of library work from administration to technology to patron services. These intern positions will be approximately 10 hours per week and will run from June to August. The pay will be $18.61 per hour.

Applicants to this program must be entering their junior or senior year of high school or first year of college for the 2026-27 school year. Homeschool equivalency is also acceptable.

Locations: Smoky Hill Library Koelbel Library Eloise May Library Southglenn Library

FLSA Status: Non - Exempt

Pay Rate: $18.61/hour


Internship Details

  • Applicants can choose a preferred library branch to serve as their home base and will have the opportunity to work at multiple library locations and offsite outreach.
  • Interns will have the opportunity to experience different types of library work.
  • Interns will work on different projects and help with library programs like maker and craft workshops monthly library programs and Summer Reading events.
  • No more than 18 hours per week.


Qualifications

  • Applicants must be at least 16 years old.
  • Interns must be entering their junior or senior year of high school or homeschool equivalent or first year of college.
  • Applicants must be able to provide proof they are eligible to work in the United States.
  • Applicants must have reliable transportation to and from their selected library location.
