Ready to make summer unforgettable Charlotte Latin School is searching for dynamic and enthusiastic Teen Camp Counselors to join our team and help create an amazing camp experience starting June 2026! As a Camp Counselor youll wear many hats dive into fun-filled activities and make a lasting impact on the lives of our campers. Your role will include a variety of duties as summarized below:
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Facilitate safe and smooth carpool and bus duties
- Walk campers to and from various locations across campus
- Assist adult leaders and teachers of the assigned camp
- Collect daily attendance for assigned camp
- Distribute materials needed for daily activities
- Participate in all camp activities as needed
- Lead activities and recreation breaks
- Assist with event set up/break down
- Assist with lunch care
- Actively participate in all camp activities and serve as a role model for campers and peers
Our Camp Directors determine schedules and may include:
- Morning Shift: 7:15 a.m.12:45 p.m.
- Afternoon Shift: 11:00 a.m.5:30 p.m.
- Full Day Shift: 8:00 a.m.4:00 p.m.
QualificationsExperience
- Applicants must be at least a rising 10th-grader
- Prior experience supervising or caring for school-aged children (excluding family members) is required.
- Experience presenting leading or facilitating group activities for children is strongly preferred.
Skills
- An understanding of age-appropriate activities.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- A collaborative co-worker with parents faculty and staff.
- A sincere desire to work with children in a nurturing and engaging environment.
- Comfortable participating in activities indoors and outdoors.
- Adheres to the highest level of professionalism.
- A philosophical alignment with the camps core values found on our website and a commitment to promoting diversity equity inclusion and belonging.
Applicants must be available June 1 - June 4 for in-person mandatory training and must be able to commit to three or more weeks of camp. Applicants should ensure their availability aligns with these requirements before applying.
Working Conditions and Environment
- Intermittently lift carry push and pull up to 25 pounds.
- Continuously see sit balance grasp and have repetitive use of arms wrists hands and fingers; and some fine finger dexterity.
- Frequently talk and hear.
- Intermittently stand stoop bend twist crouch kneel crawl walk climb stairs step stools and ladders operate foot and hand controls squeeze and reach above shoulders.
- Exposure to dust chemicals fumes flammables grease dirt stacked materials electrical equipment machinery low to medium noise levels and moderate indoor heat and cold temperatures.
- Long or odd hours as needed.
