We are seeking an experienced Registered Nurse for a night shift Med/Surg role with cross-training and floating to a Skilled Nursing Department. This is a fast-paced acute care environment requiring strong clinical judgment pediatric and adult med-surg experience and the ability to adapt to fluctuating census needs.
Key Responsibilities
Provide direct patient care for adult and non-critical pediatric Med/Surg patients
Float to Skilled Nursing Department as needed
Monitor assess and document patient conditions and responses to treatment
Administer medications and treatments in accordance with hospital protocols
Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams to ensure quality patient outcomes
Respond to patient needs in a timely and professional manner during night shifts
Maintain accurate documentation using Cerner EMR
Ensure adherence to safety infection control and clinical standards
Required Qualifications
Active California Registered Nurse (RN) license (must be current)
Minimum of 2 years of Med/Surg nursing experience
Experience caring for adult and pediatric patients (non-critical pediatrics required)
Current ACLS and PALS certifications
Cerner EMR experience required
Ability to work night shifts (7:00 PM 7:30 AM)
Willingness to float to Skilled Nursing unit as needed
Additional Information
Rapid response/crisis assignment with potential for call-off based on census
Must be flexible with staffing needs and floating assignments
Holiday coverage may be required
Strong emphasis on pediatric safety and competency (PALS required)
Candidates must be fully compliant with credentialing requirements prior to start
High adaptability and strong critical thinking skills are essential for success in this role
