Position Summary We are seeking an experienced Emergency Room Registered Nurse to provide high-quality fast-paced emergency care in a hospital setting. This role requires strong clinical judgment adaptability to rotating shifts and the ability to manage a wide range of emergency and acute care cases.
Key Responsibilities - Provide direct patient care in the Emergency Department setting
- Assess triage and prioritize patients based on acuity
- Perform emergency interventions and stabilize patients as needed
- Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary teams to deliver timely care
- Administer medications treatments and procedures in accordance with protocols
- Document all patient care accurately using Cerner EMR
- Respond effectively to rapidly changing patient conditions
- Work rotating 12-hour shifts including weekends and holidays as required
Required Qualifications - Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Hawaii (must be obtained prior to start)
- Minimum of 5 years of Emergency Room nursing experience
- Current certifications required:
- ACLS
- BLS
- PALS
- NRP
- CPI
- TNCC
- ENPC
- NIHSS
- STABLE (as applicable)
- Strong critical thinking and emergency response skills
- Ability to work consecutive weekends as needed
- Experience with Cerner EMR
Preferred Qualifications - Strong experience in high-acuity emergency departments
- Excellent multitasking and prioritization skills
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced high-stress environment
- Strong communication and teamwork abilities
Additional Information - 36 hours per week rotating 12-hour shifts
- Holiday pay applies only when shift begins on the holiday
- Must be flexible with scheduling including weekends and holidays
- Strong emphasis on emergency preparedness and rapid response care
- High level of clinical autonomy required in a busy ER environment
