Job Description Summary
Enterprise Community Loan Fund (ECLF) is a certified community development financial institution and a member of the Enterprise Family of Companies. Since its founding in 1982 Enterprise our controlling entity has raised and deployed more than $53B in equity grants and loans to support low-income people and low-income communities including building or preserving 662000 affordable rental homes. For more information about enterprise please visit our website at .The Enterprise Community Loan Fund has an immediate opening for a Relationship Manager (RM) position. The position will be primarily responsible for managing Enterprises Equitable Path Forward clients experiences throughout the Enterprise family of products and services within the Enterprise Capital and Solutions business units. The role will engage clients with a national scope; the position is considered hybrid with a preference for candidates to be near an Enterprise office inclusive of either Columbia Maryland New York City Baltimore or Washington D.C.
Job Description
Reporting to theSenior DirectorCapital theRelationship Manageris theprimary liaison for a portfolio ofroughly 30EPFsponsorsprovidinga range of servicesdependent onsponsorscapacity (i.e.tenhightenmediumstenlow).The new role willundergirdthe EPF client experience ensuring that Enterprise capital and services enhanceobjectivesto scale and grow EPF partners capacity while improving Enterprises risk management.The RMrole will require developing in-depth knowledge of eachpartnersoperations pipeline and portfolio.In doing so theRMwill assesssponsorscapacity needs andfacilitateconnections to advisory services as needed.A key responsibility will includeeducatingsponsors on the full suite of E financing products and services andfacilitatingaccess totechnicalassistancefor due diligence and underwriting requests.
Relationship managers will provide input for all credit approvals and monitor investments across business linesincludingparticipatingin credit committees and portfolio reviewscoordinatingdue diligence and reporting requestsacross business lines to alleviate duplicationandserve as a feedback loop to business lines for challenges and areas for improvement and will assist in troubled investment/workout situations to mitigate risk.The RM isexpectedto develop andmaintainrelationshipsinternallywithinand externallywithEnterprise asrelevant to thepositionwithincommunity development organizations and regions in whichtheirEPF clientsoperate.The position requires an experienced professional with strong analyticalfinancialand relationship management skills.
Responsibilities
Client Engagement
TheRelationshipwill primarily be tasked withworking closely witha portfolio ofreal estate developers who rangeacross geographycapacityexpertise andscale ofprojects developed and/or in progress.
New Business Development
Contribute to production goals byidentifyinglendingand investmentopportunities andensuringappropriate engagementand hand off between the EPF Capital unit and the business linesforfurthertransaction vetting andunderwriting.
Risk Mitigation
TheRelationshipManager may periodically be tasked to workcollaboratively and to a certain extent in an informedadvisory capacitywith Loanand Investment staffon underwriting forcredit packages pending approvalthat may include but not be limited to performing financial analysis of both for- and non-profit sponsors and/or borrowers completing 3rd party reviews and performing site addition theRelationship Managermay be tasked toconduct cursory underwriting activitieson anindependentbasis as necessary.
Other Duties as Assigned
From time to time theRelationshipManagerfulfillsother responsibilities as assigned such asassistingwith the development ofinnovative programsand/or product initiatives investor requests or other special requests as applicable.
The Relationship Manager will be expected to work cooperatively with local and regional staff from Enterprise Community Partners Enterprise Housing Community Investment and Bellwether Enterprise to coordinate and leverage Enterprise resources grants loans and equity in project development and advancement of the three goals of Enterprises strategic plan: Increasing housing supply advancing racial equity and building resilience and upward mobility.
Qualifications/Skills Needed:
Aminimum of7years of workexperience and an undergraduate degree in business finance real estate urbanplanningor related fieldis.
Exceptional communication negotiation andcritical thinking skillsto manage multiple clients along with strong organizational and analytical skills tomanagediverse and complex relationships.
Strong finance and real estate experienceincludingstrong experience in underwriting within a CDFI or private lending contextalong with particular focuson real estate focused smallbusinesses includingdevelopmentandproperty management;proficiencyin analyzing financial statements of nonprofit and for-profitorganizations.
Demonstrated capacity toassess opportunities risks and challengesandeffectively work with a unique and varied group ofsmall business owners toleverageEnterprise products and servicestoadvance solutionsthat both mitigate risk and supportscalingof EPF clientscapacity.
Ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects and assignments meet tight deadlines and coordinate and communicate effectively across all levels ofEnterprise.
Familiarity witha range offederalstateand local community development programsthat financeaffordable housing and other real estate assets.
Familiarity with federal state and local government funding sources for capital and operating needs of multifamily housing special needs housing and community facilities (e.g.LIHTC HUD programs etc.)stronglydesired.
Strong computer aptitude skills including knowledge of Microsoft Office SuiteProgramsare essential.
Ability to travel up to30%.
Salary Transparency
You will be joining a team of talented professionals motivated by serving the community and addressing the need for affordable housing.
Enterprise offers a comprehensive total rewards package for you and your family. The pay range for this position is$118000-$128000. The salary rangerepresentsthe low and high end of what may be paid for this position. It is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the pay range and compensation decisions may be influenced by a variety of factors including skills qualifications experience and location.
