Job Summary
The Offsite Referral and Pre-Certification Specialist is responsible for completing all referrals and pre-certification requirements according to established protocols.
Responsibilities
- Obtains referral and/or precerts for patients for internal and external appointments and/or orders.
- Communicate information pertaining to referrals and/or precerts to patients external medical offices and internal staff as per established protocol.
- Performs other related duties.
Qualifications
Education requirements:
- High School diploma or GED
No experience is required 1 - 3 years of experience is preferred as follows:
- Experience in processing prior-authorizations and referrals is preferred.
- Understands requirements for Internal WMG referrals as well as Outgoing Referrals.
- Understands the concept of PCP and referrals protocols as defined by Insurance Carriers.
