Our client is a respected multi-franchise automotive group operating within the South African market known for strong customer service trusted vehicle brands and operational excellence. An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced and hands-on HR Generalist to join their team in Edenvale. This role is responsible for delivering comprehensive HR support across multiple dealership departments including Sales Service Parts and Administration The successful candidate will play a key role in recruitment employee relations compliance performance management HR administration training initiatives and workplace culture helping to build a productive professional and compliant working environment.
Responsibilities- Coordinate end-to-end recruitment processes including advertising shortlisting interviews offer documentation onboarding and induction
- Partner with line managers on staffing requirements and workforce planning needs
- Provide first-line HR support to employees and management on HR-related matters
- Assist with disciplinary hearings grievances poor performance matters and corrective action processes
- Promote positive employee relations and a professional workplace culture
- Support and administer performance management processes reviews and development plans
- Coordinate training compliance training skills development learnerships and internal development initiatives
- Maintain accurate employee records contracts and personnel files
- Administer leave attendance probation termination and general employee lifecycle processes
- Prepare HR documentation including letters warnings notices and reports
- Ensure compliance with South African labour legislation and internal HR policies
- Support audits inspections policy communication and policy updates
- Assist with Occupational Health & Safety compliance incident reporting safety records risk assessments and safety training across all departments
- Build strong working relationships with managers and employees across Sales Service Parts and Administration
- Diploma or Bachelors Degree in Human Resources Business Administration or related field
- 35 years of HR experience
- Experience in recruitment onboarding employee relations performance management and HR administration
- Sound knowledge of South African labour legislation
- Experience with HR compliance processes and disciplinary procedures
- Strong administrative organisational and time-management skills
- Strong communication interpersonal and stakeholder engagement skills
- Proficiency in MS Office and HRIS / payroll systems
- Ability to manage confidential and sensitive information with discretion
- Detail-oriented with strong follow-through
- Proactive reliable and solutions-focused approach
- Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment
- Experience within the automotive retail or service industry
- Exposure to dealership operations
- MIBCO experience
- Experience supporting multi-department operations
