Overview
Job Summary: The Security Vulnerability Remediation Specialist 1 is an entry-level Infrastructure Operations role responsible for supporting the assessment and remediation of security vulnerabilities across Hylands internal infrastructure. Working under direct supervision this role assists with patching configuration changes and basic remediation tasks across servers endpoints and network devices. The role partners with senior team members and Cyber Security to learn vulnerability identification processes while building foundational skills in Infrastructure-managed systems.
Responsibilities
Responsibilities:
Assist in reviewing vulnerability findings provided by Cyber Security and scanning tools to understand risk context applicability and remediation requirements under the guidance of senior team members.
Execute assigned remediation tasks including patching basic configuration changes and updates across servers and endpoints following established procedures and documented runbooks.
Support the maintenance and execution of existing automation scripts and tools used for patch deployment and configuration enforcement under supervision.
Collaborate with Infrastructure team members to learn system environments coordinate scheduled remediation activities and escalate issues as needed.
Track and document remediation activities update tickets and maintain records in compliance with team standards and SLA requirements.
Preferred Qualifications
High School diploma or equivalent
- 1 yrs of Experience
Basic exposure to IT infrastructure concepts or relevant coursework/internship experience.
Familiarity with operating systems (Windows Linux) in educational or lab environments.
Basic understanding of security concepts and vulnerability terminology.
Microsoft Windows and Office proficient
Oral and written communications skills that demonstrate a professional demeanor and the ability to interact with others with discretion and tact
Organizational multi-tasking and time management skills
Collaboration skills applied successfully within team
Microsoft Excel skills
Facilitation and project management skill

Basic knowledge of Systems and Platforms including Windows Server fundamentals (Active Directory concepts DNS basics); Linux basic concepts.

Basic knowledge of Cloud and Virtualization including Microsoft Azure fundamentals; virtualization concepts.
Basic knowledge of Networking concepts including TCP/IP DNS DHCP fundamentals.
Basic knowledge of Endpoint concepts including desktop management and patching basics.
Basic knowledge of Scripting concepts including PowerShell basics.
