Job Description:

Reporting to the Director Dealer Strategic Initiatives the Senior Consultant Dealer Program Implementation is accountable for driving awareness and adoption of Dealer initiatives and day-to-day changes through effective change management and communication tactics. This role requires a resourceful senior individual contributor who can effectively manage and navigate an active portfolio.

Dealer is part of Sun Life Canadas Retail Advice & Solutions business unit enabling the distribution of retail wealth advice and solutions to support our Purpose and is on an ambitious journey to grow and transform its business. The Dealer Strategic Initiatives team is part of Dealers transformation function and is accountable for defining and delivering innovative effective and efficient solutions that enhance competitiveness improve advisor Client and employee experience accelerate business growth meet regulatory requirements and contribute to a well-managed risk environment. The team partners closely with several teams to accomplish this mandate including digital delivery change management operations and organizational control functions.

What will you do

Drive the successful and smooth adoption of Dealer projects and changes:

  • Develop and implement a standardized change management road map that defines processes timelines and stakeholder engagement strategies for organizational change initiatives. Establish and document change management and communication tactics to ensure consistent effective execution across the enterprise

  • Build strong relationships with and deeply understand the needs of key Dealer partners and stakeholders including Advisors Operations Compliance and Field Leaders

  • Provide tailored support to enhance the standardized change management approach in support of different audiences program implementation including developing and implementing change management plans for key Dealer projects in partnership with initiative leads and other key internal & external stakeholders and supporting initiative leads in developing & implementing change plans for smaller projects

  • Develop content such as presentations message maps FAQs and other resources to support the successful implementation of changes

  • Write and release high quality communications for Dealer initiatives changes and issues with consistent tone and presence

Continuously improve Dealers ability to successfully create change:

  • Stay connected with Dealer partners to keep a pulse on broader retail change programs and their impacts on the Dealer business and keep Dealer leaders informed on these changes

  • Maintain an overall view on the impact of Dealer initiatives and changes to key stakeholders and use it to inform initiative planning & delivery

  • Develop and manage quantitative approaches to measuring change readiness and adoption

  • Continuously research change management and communications best practices and drive adoption of these practices through the Dealer organization

  • Represent and coordinate Dealer presence in key organizational change channels and forums

What do you need to succeed

  • Strong working knowledge and understanding of the Canadian retail wealth industry (investment services investment funds wealth management etc.) including completion of IFC/CSC course (or to be completed within 12 months of start date)

  • Excellent oral and written communication presentation and interpersonal skills

  • Knowledge of and experience employing various change management approaches to successfully drive change adoption

  • Strong business acumen and integrative thinking skills to understand relevance of problems to the organization and to draw connections between various programs and perspectives

  • Excellent ability to synthesize complex problems and changes into key concepts and messages

  • Strong ability to effectively partner with a variety of stakeholders with different experiences and focuses to collaboratively accomplish work objectives

  • Strong organizational and time management skills to lead larger change management plans consult on smaller change management plans and deliver communications for large and small changes

Other assets:

  • Bilingualism (English and French) is strongly preferred

  • Minimum 5 years of relevant business experience preferably in or related to Mutual Fund Dealer or Investment Dealer communications marketing operations risk management transformation and/or enablement; knowledge of Sun Lifes business is preferred

  • Accreditations and certifications related to Mutual Fund or Investment Dealer businesses change management (e.g. CMI ACMP PROSCI) communications and/or project management

The Base Pay range is for the primary location for which the job is posted. It may vary depending on the work location of the successful candidate or other addition to Base Pay eligible Sun Life employees participate in various incentive plans payment under which is discretionary and subject to individual and company performance.
