Postion Summary: To provide Occupational Therapy services to special education students with a variety of needs and severity of disabilities to help students develop the strength and skills needed to participate in the school environment. Primarily working in our middle school high school and Launch Program the districts 18-22 transition program.
Position Responsibilities:
- Maintain and deliver Occupational Therapy Services
- AttendIEP meetings and complete all related paperwork in a timely fashion
- Monitor student progress; revise IEP according to progress
- Evaluate students OT skills
- Communicate with school personnel outside of the department
- Communicate effectively with parents and other stakeholders
Job Qualifications:
- Attendance at departmental and school-wide meetings
- Requisite licensure as defined by the DESE and SEI Endorsement
- Experience implementing all parts of the IEP process
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- A strong commitment to helping a wide variety of culturally diverse students achieve their full potential
- Ability to support the development of culturally responsive programs and activities that promote student engagement family engagement community involvement and a positive school climate
