Job Summary
POSITION SUMMARY: Under the direction of the district ESL coordinator and campus principal(s) direct the learning activities and ancillary services of grade subject or other school assignments.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
Education: BA/BS
Experience: ESL teaching experience preferred; Bilingual preferred
Licenses/Other: Appropriate ESL Texas Certification
ILLUSTRATIVE DUTIES:
- Provide instruction and support to ELLstudents (campus(es) to be determined)
- Hold all LPAC meetings (Initial State Assessment and End of Year)
- CompleteIdentification Assessment on all newly enrolled students and as needed on other students
- Coordinate and administer all parts of TELPAS (Texas English Language Proficiency Assessment System) responsibilities
- Administer state testing for ELLstudents as needed
- Oversee monitoring of all reclassified students
- Provide classroom support to teachers of ELL students
- Communicate with ELLparents regularly
- Works cooperatively with faculty staff and administration
- Other duties as assigned
