At Blue Origin we envision millions of people living and working in space for the benefit of Earth. Were working to develop reusable safe and low-cost space vehicles and systems within a culture of safety collaboration and inclusion. Join our team of problem solvers as we add new chapters to the history of spaceflight!

This role supports the development and operations of New Glenn a single-configuration heavy-lift orbital launch vehicle capable of routinely carrying people and payloads to low-Earth orbit geostationary transfer orbit cislunar and beyond. Its first stage is fully reusable and the vehicle was designed from the beginning to be human-capable.

New Glenn 7x2 is transitioning from development into scaled production and repeatable launch operations. We are seeking a Senior Engineer to drive program management for vehicle engineering manufacturing test refurbishment and launch operations to ensure 7x2 hardware is producible maintainable and capable of supporting increased launch cadence.

In this role you will be a critical leader in systemlevel integration and crossfunctional coordination necessary to mature 7x2 production flows help remove bottlenecks and close reliability and operability gaps that limit launch rate. You will work closely with chief engineers integrated product team leads and factory and launch site teams to help define and execute the engineering work that enables safe reliable timely and economically viable highrate launch.

Key Responsibilities

Metrics and Reporting

  • Develop and track program KPIs
  • Work with program leaders to drive schedule and KPI adherence
  • Develop and implement KPI recovery plans
  • Report regularly to senior leadership

7x2 Production Support

  • Contribute to the endtoend technical approach for 7x2 production readiness and launch rate increase from design and configuration control through manufacturing test and launch operations.
  • Support designformanufacturability designfortest and designformaintainability improvements on key subsystems to reduce touch labor cycle time and rework.
  • Help document and maintain the production 7x2 technical baseline including clear build standards and allowable configuration variances for highrate operations.

Launch Rate & Throughput Improvement

  • Partner with production launch operations and supply chain teams to identify technical constraints that limit launch cadence (e.g. inspection test refurbishment configuration changes) and support closure of these constraints.
  • Develop and apply datadriven analyses that support throughput improvements (e.g. test simplification modularization hardware reuse strategies streamlined acceptance criteria).
  • Participate in multidisciplinary trade studies to balance launch rate cost risk and performance and prepare inputs and recommendations for program and chief engineering leadership.

System Integration & Problem Solving

  • Act as an integrator across vehicle ground systems and operations teams to help ensure assumptions and interfaces remain aligned and stable for production.
  • Support technical root cause and corrective action investigations for issues that impact production yield turnaround time or launch readiness.
  • Contribute to assessing whether reliability maintainability and operability targets for 7x2 hardware support the desired launch manifest and fleet strategy.

Process Tooling and Configuration Maturity

  • Assist in defining and maturing production test strategies qualification/acceptance requirements and inspection plans that are compatible with higher launch rates.
  • Provide engineering input to tooling automation and factory layout decisions to reduce cycle time and increase repeatability while preserving safety and product integrity.
  • Support configuration management change control and BOM structure improvements to enable efficient planning MRP and build execution for 7x2 at scale.

CrossFunctional Collaboration & Mentorship

  • Collaborate closely with leaders and engineers across disciplines (mechanical systems manufacturing test launch ops) working on 7x2 production and operations.
  • Represent the 7x2 production and launchrate perspective in design reviews change control boards and launch readiness reviews; clearly communicate technical risks and operational impacts within your area of responsibility.
  • Work with the finance program and operations team to track review and improve cost targets.
  • Help maintain strong feedback loops between Florida launch site teams and Kentbased engineering teams by capturing communicating and tracking production and launchsite learnings into design and process updates.

  • 8 years of experience in launch vehicles spacecraft aircraft or similarly complex aerospace systems including exposure to manufacturing and/or flight operations.
  • Demonstrated experience contributing to crossfunctional technical efforts that span design manufacturing test and/or operations.
  • Demonstrated experience in developing and implementing program management processes.
  • Proven experience helping resolve systemlevel issues that impact production throughput reliability or operational tempo.
  • Strong ability to interpret data from production and test environments and convert it into clear actionable engineering inputs.
  • Effective executive-level written and verbal communication skills with experience working across diverse stakeholders.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Masters degree in engineering or related technical field.
  • Experience in highrate production environments (launch vehicles aircraft automotive or similar).
  • Direct experience with launch site integration vehicle processing flows or countdown/launch operations for orbitalclass vehicles.
  • Experience serving as a subsystem or integrated product team lead technical focal or responsible engineer on a complex system or major component.
  • Familiarity with product lifecycle management and material requirements planning systems configuration management and engineering change processes for flight hardware.
  • Experience working with AI and automation tools and implementing them into workflows.
  • Demonstrated ability to participate in and help implement designformanufacturing and designforoperations improvements at scale.
