Schedule Details:This is a 1.0 FTE position with a variable start time between 0530 and 0800.
* Primarily first shift hours Monday-Friday
Primary location: WMH with regular time each month spent at OMH and MUK laboratory sites
Start times vary between 6:00-8:00 AM based on assignment and operational needs
Approximately 50% bench work in the blood bank
Currently no weekend or holiday rotations associated with this role
* Driving between PHC locations for business purposes may be necessary using personal vehicle.
About Us:
ProHealth Care offers a system-wide laboratory operation with core hospital labs at Waukesha Memorial and Oconomowoc Memorial as well as two clinic-based laboratory sites in Waukesha County. The laboratory performs over 8 million tests annually.
Our Lab services operate state of the art facilities and include clinical testing in the areas of Histology Cytology Hematology Coagulation Clinical Chemistry Urinalysis Immunoassay Microbiology Transfusion service EIA and Molecular Biology. ProHealth Care offers a vibrant outreach program providing laboratory testing to numerous specialty hospitals physician offices nursing home and assisted living facilities. Our Pathologists and PhDs work closely with lab employees to monitor quality as well as identify access and implement new technology. The Laboratory has certification and accreditation through the College of American Pathologists (CAP) American Association of Blood Banks (AABB) and Clinical Laboratory Improvement Act (CLIA).
What You Will Do:
The Technical Specialist is accountable for providing technical expertise in a specific area of laboratory medicine (Chemistry/EIA Blood Bank Hematology/Coag POCT etc.).Provides oversight and monitoring of daily technical operations to include equipment validation maintenance and calibration as well as quality control. Provides subject matter expertise and oversight across all sites and shifts of PHC Laboratories contributing to procedural standardization and technical quality across the have the ability to work at various PHC Lab locations as needed.
Requirements:
- Clinical Pathologist (ASCP)
- Bachelors degree in MLS or MT required
- 4 years of relevant experience preferred
