Job Summary

Extended School Year (ESY) Program: ESY refers to special education and/or related services provided beyond the normal school year for the purpose of providing a free appropriate public education (FAPE) to a student with a disability in accordance with the childs IEP. ESY is intended to protect students from regressing on key goals of their IEP over the summer and ensure they can benefit from their IEP during the regular school year.

Qualifications:

  • Tier II Special Education Paraprofessional Requirements
  • Team-oriented and willing to contribute at all levels to ensure student success;
  • Self-motivated and a proactive problem solver with the ability to work independently;
  • Strong interpersonal skills including the ability to work with a team;
  • Excellent communication skills;
  • Flexibility with regard to situations tasks and challenges related to the position.

Responsibilities:

  • Performs remedial instruction or tasks to reinforce learning initiated by a professional educator;
  • May work with an individual student requiring individual or close attention (dedicated paraprofessional);
  • Observes and assists students experiencing difficulties;
  • Monitors groups of students engaged while the teacher is otherwise occupied;
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

Schedule:

  • The ESY program runs from June 1 to June 25 2026
  • 4.5 hours/day from7:45 AM 12:15 PM Monday-Thursday.

Salary & Benefits:

  • Paraprofessionalsare paid an hourly rate of $20. Benefits are not included.
