Description

The Senior Vice President of Radiology serves as the management lead of Imaging Services throughout EHC and encompasses system-wide responsibilities and coordination. This position reports directly to the EHC President Hospital Division and partners with the EHC Chief of Radiology/School of Medicine Chair of Radiology and Imaging Sciences.

The Senior Vice President of Imaging Services is a senior executive leader with enterprise-wide responsibility and accountability for the strategy operations clinical performance and financial sustainability of imaging services across Emory Healthcares integrated academic health system. This role oversees all diagnostic and interventional imaging modalities across 11 hospitals and numerous outpatient locations ensuring consistent clinical excellence operational efficiency patient-centered access and strategic growth. The SVP of Imaging Services serves as the enterprise owner of imaging strategy aligning imaging services with Emory Healthcares academic mission clinical priorities research objectives and value-based care imperatives. The role partners closely with physician leadership hospital operations Emory University School of Medicine research teams IT finance and system leadership to deliver high-quality accessible and innovative imaging services at scale.

The ideal candidate will be a seasoned healthcare professional with strong business acumen interpersonal and change management skills who can lead ongoing growth efforts across EHC and serve as an operational and strategic advisor to the EHC Executive leadership team and Radiology Department Chair.

Successful candidates will have a track record of progressive management responsibilities and demonstrated leadership within a healthcare setting that is similar in size and complexity. Central to this will be the ability to grasp the key financial business and employee performance objectives of radiology and imaging sciences while participating with multiple stakeholders across the Emory enterprise to achieve expected outcomes. An understanding and appreciation of the intersection among the clinical teaching and research missions is essential.

Enterprise Imaging Strategy & Growth

  • Develop and lead the enterprise imaging vision strategy and multi-year roadmap across all hospitals and outpatient sites
  • Align imaging strategy with Emory Healthcares clinical service lines ambulatory growth strategy research mission and population health goals
  • Identify and execute opportunities for program expansion advanced imaging capabilities and regional market growth
  • Advise executive leadership on imaging-related strategic investments partnerships and innovation

Imaging Operations & Performance Management

  • Provide enterprise oversight of daily imaging operations across inpatient and outpatient settings
  • Establish systemwide operational standards for access scheduling throughput turnaround times and capacity utilization
  • Drive operational excellence using benchmarking analytics and continuous improvement methodologies
  • Ensure reliable high-performing imaging services across all facilities

Clinical Quality Safety & Academic Excellence

  • Partner with radiology physician leadership to ensure imaging services meet the highest quality and safety standards
  • Ensure compliance with all regulatory accreditation and safety requirements
  • Support imaging innovation and quality improvement consistent with Emorys academic mission
  • Enable imaging support for clinical trials translational research and education

Physician Faculty & Research Partnership

  • Serve as a strategic partner to Radiology Department Chairs division chiefs and faculty leadership
  • Align imaging operations with physician workflow training needs and research priorities
  • Support recruitment engagement and retention of imaging faculty and leaders

Financial Stewardship & Capital Planning

  • Own enterprise imaging financial performance including operating budgets and long-range financial planning
  • Lead imaging capital planning prioritization and ROI analysis across all sites
  • Optimize resource utilization and cost efficiency while supporting growth and innovation

Technology Innovation & Digital Enablement

  • Partner with IT and Clinical Engineering to guide enterprise imaging technology strategy
  • Oversee adoption of advanced imaging platforms PACS AI-enabled tools and workflow automation
  • Ensure technology investments enhance clinical quality research capability and patient access

Access Patient Experience & Equity

  • Ensure timely coordinated and patient-centered access to imaging services
  • Partner with Patient Experience and Operations leadership to improve the end-to-end imaging experience
  • Advance equitable access to imaging services across the diverse communities Emory serves

Workforce Leadership & Talent Development

  • Lead a large complex imaging workforce across hospitals and outpatient sites
  • Establish consistent leadership expectations and staffing models
  • Promote engagement professional development and retention of imaging staff

Governance Reporting & Executive Engagement

  • Establish enterprise imaging governance structures
  • Provide regular performance quality and financial updates to executive leadership and the Board
  • Represent Emory Healthcare externally as an imaging services leader as appropriate

Additional Duties as Assigned

Travel: Travel between Emory Operating Units and affiliated sites may be required
Work Type: Hybrid employee - splits time between working remotely and working in the office.

MINIMUM REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelors degree in healthcare administration business operations or related field
  • Ten years of professional business or management experience which includes at least five years in a clinical or healthcare environment
  • Experience in a multi-hospital system or a complex healthcare system
  • A record of outstanding achievement in business management practices including human resources (team building staff development) strategy and business development fiscal management marketing change management performance improvement and planning

Preferred Qualifications:
Education: Masters degree preferred.
