QA/QC Piping Inspector

QA/QC Piping Inspector must have experience doing UTT thickness readings and PTs and may require an API-570 for piping inspection will inspect test and sample products materials or parts for deviations and defects from specifications. The inspector will reject anything that does not meet company standards. A QA or QC inspector will observe production operations and equipment to ensure that specifications are being met and to make or order necessary adjustments to processes or assemblies. Attention to detail is essential to the job to detect defects that could be easily missed by the customer but still present a safety risk and the ability to communicate clearly and effectively when reporting issues and defects is necessary. An inspector should be able to interpret blueprints and other drawings that detail product specifications. Experience with measuring tools is required as well.
Responsibilities:
- Performs daily construction surveillance at the project site including welding structural and civil inspections.
- Inspect test and sample materials or assembled parts or products for defects and deviations from specifications.
- Reject products materials and equipment not meeting specifications.
- Observe and report construction progress.
- Writes daily reports based on observations made.
- Reports discrepancies to the QA/QC Manager and Project Manager.
- Coordinates code compliance inspections per client specifications and State laws.
- Maps welds to be performed.
- Effectively interfaces with client QA personnel.

Qualifications Required for this Position:
Education: no minimum education requirements.
Certifications/ Licenses: NCCER a valid Drivers License and a TWIC.
Experience: 5 years of Journeyman level experience.
