Educational Diagnostician
Administrative Service Center
Job Summary: The Educational Diagnostician is responsible for assessing students to determine eligibility for special education services and supporting the development of appropriate educational plans. This position works collaboratively with teachers administrators and families to ensure students receive the services and supports needed for academic success.
Certification and Qualifications:
- Participant in the Indiana University School Psychology Internship Program.
- Valid state teaching license
- Knowledge of assessment instruments and evaluation procedures
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct comprehensive psychoeducational evaluations using a variety of assessment tools and methods
- Interpret assessment data to identify learning disabilities developmental delays and other educational needs
- Prepare clear concise written evaluation reports with recommendations
- Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings including case conferences and Individualized Education Program (IEP) meetings
- Assist in determining eligibility for special education services in compliance with state and federal regulations (e.g. IDEA)
- Collaborate with teachers school psychologists and related service providers to develop appropriate interventions and supports
- Provide consultation to staff and families regarding student needs assessment results and instructional strategies
- Maintain accurate and confidential student records
- Ensure compliance with timelines procedures and documentation requirements
- Stay current with assessment practices legal requirements and educational research
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods during classroom instruction and supervision.
- Manual dexterity to operate classroom technology and equipment.
- Visual and auditory ability to monitor student behavior and respond to classroom situations.
- Ability to move quickly in response to student safety needs.
- Ability to perform light physical activitiessuch as bending kneeling and reachingas required in a classroom setting as well as lift and carry items weighing up to 50 pounds.
