Quality Engineer

Primary Duties & Responsibilities

• Quality Engineering (30%)
  • Fully understand the product specifications during the new parts introduction and change review. Responsible for product specification awareness in site if applicable coordination with external parties and customers.
  • Determine the quality control plan the specific control processes and the measurement metrology. Document the internal inspection procedure. Proper planning and arrangement to ensure the availability of suitable measurement equipment at the time of use per schedule to meet the production inspection / measurement requirement.
  • Lead and cooperate with process engineering production and other functions for the product / process quality related issue solving. Lead the coordination of the related functions to the purpose of positive problem solution approach.
  • Summarize and statistically analyze the product / process quality status and performance periodically for continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Follow-up and verify the corrective / preventive actions taken in time to ensure the effectiveness for the occurred or potential product related issues resolution.
  • Review the reasonability of specification and applicability of measure metrology about new product. Provide the constructive suggestion for engineering department.
  • Push and implement the continuous improvement and track the effect.
• Product and Process (20%)
  • Be fully aware of the measurement methods the production processes the instructions of process / product quality control in-house throughout the product realization processes and the applicable revising for the continual suitability and optimization.
  • Be familiar with the inspection and measurement for the products by the actual practice. When necessary conduct the applicable training to operators inspectors and/or the other related to make sure the planned approach can be implemented effectively on shopfloor.
  • Lead and coordinate the analysis for root causes of the nonconforming products. Follow-up the consequent actions taken per defined plan to complete the quality issue solution and maintain the closure.
  • Periodically summarize and report the internal quality performance with analysis and proposed initiatives.
  • Maintenance of the suitability of product / process quality control documents and the monitoring for effective implementation.
  • Lead the quality continuous improvement project.
• Customer Services (20%)
  • Lead and coordinate the cause analysis and corrective / preventive action initiatives for customer complaint and warranty returns. Action plan response and follow-up communication with customers to ensure the effective problem solving.
  • Periodically summarize and report the performance of warranty return with analysis and proposed action initiatives.
  • Be responsible for the engineering change management from customer and lead team to implement the internal engineering change.
  • Be responsible to enhance the customer satisfaction and understand the customers requirement to evaluate the internal inspection standard and specification.
• Supplier management (10%)
  • Be responsible to search coach and approve the new supplier. Manage the Quality Vendor List (QVL) and be in coordination with Purchasing to raise the On-Time Delivery (OTD).
  • Be responsible routine supplier management. Define the target of supplier performance and strengthen the capability of supplier.
  • Be responsible to coach the IQC operator. Define the sampling standard and monitor the material incoming to find out the improvement point.
  • Communicate and project for the key suppliers quality continuous improvement to ensure the stable supplier product supply to meet production request.
• QMS Compliance (10%)
  • Support for the effective implementation maintenance and improvement of established ISO9001.
  • Follow-up and verify the corrective actions for any findings during internal / external audit or process audit.
  • Periodically check and report the process conformance to ensure QMS requirements are well implemented.
• Others (10%)
  • Cooperatively and positively assist colleagues work if necessary.
  • Have willingness to learn new related and necessary knowledge to serve for company if necessary.
  • Complete task (other than above) assigned by management.

Education & Experience

• Bachelors Degree or equivalent education in Physics Chemistry Material Science or Mechanical / Electrical Engineering
• At least 1-2 years working experience as a Product/Process Quality Engineer.

Skills

• Rich product / process quality control experience and advanced quality assurance concept in a manufacturing facility.
• Strong ability to do it by himself or herself and logical thinking.
• Be good at finding out and summarizing problems and having good initiative and problem-solving approach.
• Good awareness of IR optic production process control.
• Be familiar with the common quality tools and the ability of good practical statistical process control experience.
• Good awareness of the optic measurement equipment metrology and can operate the common measuring instruments physically.
• Awareness of ISO9001 requirements considering the quality issues systematically.
• Be integrity and team-working spirit.
