The Team
The Technical Development team develops and delivers both innovative and sustainable products for Tommy Hilfiger. Responsible for the end-to-end technical development of the product from initial concept through to physical garments pioneering high quality & product excellence as well as delivering on company & divisional KPIs.
Closely partnering with several stakeholders from PD (Product Development) design & merchandising through to global teams this role plays an intricate part in delivering the Tommy Hilfiger brand DNA.
The Position
We are looking for a highly skilled and detail-orientedGarment Technical Developerto join our team with a strong focus onmenswear.
In this role you will be responsible for driving the technical development of garments from concept to production ensuring exceptional fit construction and quality across our global supply base
Key Responsibilities
1. Technical Development & Block Management
Own and maintain the block library ensuring consistency and accuracy across nominated menswear categories.
Lead the development of new seasonal silhouettes in alignment with brand direction and market trends.
2. Cross-Functional Collaboration
Partner with Design Merchandising and Product Development teams to translate creative concepts into technically executable garments.
Interpret sketches and design intent into precise technical specifications.
3. Fit & Pattern Execution
Organize and lead fit sessions evaluating samples for fit comfort and construction on models or mannequins.
Document and communicate fit feedback clearly ensuring timely and accurate pattern adjustments.
Supervise pattern corrections and ensure feasibility with vendor capabilities and production standards.
4. Communication & Coordination
Act as a key liaison between internal teams and external vendors ensuring alignment on fit construction and quality expectations.
Collaborate with Sourcing and Quality Assurance to address technical challenges and resolve quality issues.
5. Data Management & Process Integrity
Maintain accurate and up-to-date technical data in the Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) system.
Ensure all development milestones are met in accordance with the critical path.
6. Operational Support
Support ad hoc tasks such as sample organization meeting preparation technical analysis and reporting.
Candidate Profile
Experience & Education
Experience as a Technical Developer and/or Pattern Cutter with a strong focus on menswear.
Degree in Garment Technology Pattern Cutting or a related field in fashion textiles or apparel.
Technical Expertise
In-depth knowledge of garment construction fit and pattern development specific to menswear.
Proficient in CAD software such as Gerber; experience with 3D tools like Browzwear or Gerber 3D is a plus.
Skilled in Adobe Creative Suite and other relevant design tools.
Soft Skills
Strong communicator and collaborative team player with the ability to work cross-functionally.
Analytical and solution-oriented with a keen eye for detail.
Comfortable in a fast-paced deadline-driven environment.
Self-motivated pragmatic and business-minded.
