Financial Reporting & Tax Manager

• Team development spending time one-on-one and group coaching sessions
• Oversee and coordinate the timing of period quarter and year-end reporting for multiple companies
• Preparation and thorough review of financial reports for the restaurants including Balance Sheet schedules Profit & Loss (P&L) statements and other financial reports to ensure accounting controls and processes are followed
• Responsible for managing Sage 300 & Blackline including new store and GL account setup completing year end close and creating new fiscal calendars
• Prepare audit working papers for year-end and coordinate with auditors
• Monitor and improve efficiencies and effectiveness of accounting processes
• Involvement in planning and onboarding for newly acquired markets
• Review current processes & bring automation if possible.
• Supervise & review sales tax filling in Canada & US.
• Approve Account Reconciliations on the Blackline on a periodic basis.
• Other duties and projects as assigned by the Controller.

• Post-secondary education in accounting or finance
• Minimum 3 years experience in a senior finance position
• Solid knowledge of accounting principles
• Able to lead and coach direct reports with prior managerial experience preferred
• Excellent communication skills
• Great at problem solving with an ability to think outside the box
• Strong knowledge and capabilities in spreadsheets
• CPA designation or enrollment in the CPA program is considered an asset
