Job Summary

The purpose of the Research Grants and Development Office is to support high-quality research and researchers by:

  • Supportingresearcherstomeettheirobligationswithrespecttoethicsintegrity project managementsupervisionand reporting.

  • Supporting researchers to develop their skills and knowledge in areas of Research and Development Officeexpertise.

  • Supporting researchers to develop high-quality research funding proposals.

  • Developinganalysingandreportinghigh-qualityresearchmanagementdatato support the strategic development of Garvans research profile.

THE OPPORTUNITY

The Research Grants Administrator supports the Research Grants and Development Office in achieving excellence in research administration and grant management at Garvan.

Salary:Up to$102500 12% super salary packaging (depending on experience)

Employment Type:3-month contractfull-time

WHAT YOU WILL DO

The key responsibilities include:

  • Liaison & Reporting: Act as a key liaison between the Research Grants and Development teamandfinancepartnerstoensuretheeffectiveset-upandongoingreportingforscholarships and grants administered through the Research and Development Office.

  • InformationTriage:AddressrequestsfromPeopleandCulturepayrollandotherdepartmentsregardingresearcher and grant information.

  • Administrative Support: Provide general administrativeassistance includingmaintainingtemplates and scheduling tasks for research-related committees.

  • MeetingSupport:Onrequestattendreviewandassistwithpanelandcommitteemeetings including managing video conferencing set up.

  • Communication Management: Manage a central inbox to respond to triage and redirectgeneral research and grant-related requests.

  • Special Projects: Undertake special projects asfrom time to time.

  • Compliance:AllstaffaretocomplywithGarvansworkplacepolices(asamended from time to time) and especially Garvans Work Health & Safety (WHS) PolicyincludingworkinginaccordancewiththeWHSmanagementsystematalltimesassafety is Garvans number one priority.


ABOUT YOU

The key skills and experience include:

  • Education: Bachelors degree or equivalent professional experience.

  • Experience:Previousexperience working in a busy office environment.

  • Technical Skills: Familiarity with Office software and research management data.

  • Soft Skills: Ability to prioritise tasks work independently and contribute effectively to a team.

  • Resilience: Capacity to work effectively under pressure.

  • Commitment: Understanding of and commitment to the Australian Code for the Responsible Conduct of Research.
