Job Description:
Field Engineering Specialist is responsible for operation inspection maintenance and repair of the complete spectrum of avionics systems and proprietary communication systems on various single and multi-engine aircraft.
Essential Functions:
- Maintains repairs tests and/or calibrates various types of aircraft electronic equipment and related devices such as transmitters amplifiers receivers RF distribution equipment computer controllers and workstations.
- Applies technical knowledge of electronic principles and strong knowledge in troubleshooting techniques to determine avionics malfunctions and restore aircraft to full operational status.
- Installs and maintains Quick Reaction Capability (QRC) modifications to the aircraft and advises operations and maintenance personnel on their use.
- Performs work in accordance with technical manuals schematics engineering drawings and written/verbal instructions.
- Apply knowledge and understanding of operational procedures inspection requirements troubleshooting and maintenance techniques to aircraft communications/navigation and ancillary electronics systems.
- Utilize a variety of aircraft test equipment technical publications and schematics.
- In-depth knowledge of aircraft avionics operation troubleshooting repair and inspection.
- Experience with a wide range of technical reference material from commercial/OEM manuals to blueprints/engineering drawings.
- Must be willing and able to travel between 30-50% both international and domestic.
- Physical requirements of the job include lifting bending and climbing.
- Proficient with Microsoft Windows and Microsoft Office products.
- Other duties as assigned by Supervisor.
Qualifications:
- Bachelors Degree with four (4) years of experience with Aircraft avionics operation troubleshooting repair and inspection.
- Graduate Degree with two (2) years of experience with Aircraft avionics operation troubleshooting repair and inspection.
- In lieu of a degree a minimum of eight (8) years of experience with Aircraft avionics operation troubleshooting repair and inspection.
- Must have an active Secret clearance at the time of hire with eligibility to obtain a Top-Secret clearance.
- Must be a U.S. Citizen.
