Job Description:

  • Act as a servant leader for multiple agile project teams to deliver project(s) that span across one or more value streams (multiple projects and/or release trains).
  • Serve as the Release Train Engineer managing and optimizing the flow of value through an Agile Release Train
  • Includes management of issues risks and project change requests to ensure successful and on-time project delivery.
  • Provide direction and set priorities to deliver to plans/budget and resolve day-to-day project issues as it relates to the Engineering portfolio.
  • Perform risk/issue assessment tracking resolution escalation and closeout to ensure satisfactory project performance and delivery.
  • Work with cross-functional teams to ensure accurate schedules well defined statements of work identified and quantified risk highest quality and costs within budget.
  • Manage and maintain program/project management tools metrics and related processes.
  • Instill process discipline and a culture of accountability focused on customer satisfaction and supreme quality.
  • Assist in the leadership of the teams through the Agile transformation and acting as a perpetual change agent to that end.
  • Works with minimal supervision manages own time effectively maintains control over all current projects/responsibilities. Follows up on all relevant issues; pro-active.
  • Minimal travel within the US anticipated.

Essential Functions:

  • The position requires a critical driving force within the team for optimizing flow and pushing for improvement using the implementation of a Lean/Agile mindset.
  • Managing and optimizing the flow of value through an Agile Release Train (ART)
  • Managing schedule execution and planning the software / architecture releases for the project/program
  • Facilitating Program Increment (PI) Planning readiness by fostering a continuous exploration process which drives the synthesis of a Vision a Roadmap and Backlogs and through Pre- and Post-PI Planning meetings.
  • Facilitating cross-team collaboration within program via Scrum of Scrums meeting and other less formal forums in support of development testing and deployment efforts
  • Summarizing Team PI objectives into Program PI objectives and publishing them for visibility and transparency
  • Assist tracking the execution of features and capabilities through metrics across the programs agile and DevOps teams.
  • Briefing customer on development progress throughout PI cycle and on the status of testing deployment and release readiness
  • Acquiring understanding of the large complex software system and assess risk and understand varied customer concerns
  • Coaching teams Scrum Masters Product Owners and Project/Program Leaders in agile practices
  • Promoting teamwork to achieve PI goals.
  • Leading the teams towards agile maturity
  • Escalating and tracking impediments
  • Work with the Scrum teams to identify dependencies and critical path items to ensure work is executed in the most efficient manner
  • Providing input on resourcing to address critical bottlenecks and remove blockers
  • Working with the contractor Program Management Office (PMO) on program execution test data

Qualifications:

  • Bachelors Degree and minimum 9 years of prior relevant experience. Graduate Degree and a minimum of 7 years of prior related lieu of a degree minimum of 13 years of prior related experience
  • 10 years experience as a technical project manager (hardware and/or software)

Preferred Additional Skills:

  • Strong oral/written communication and interpersonal skills including exceptional presentation and facilitation skills.
  • Experience with Microsoft Word Excel PowerPoint and Project.
  • Able to work within a cross-functional geographically dispersed team environment.
  • Demonstrated the capacity to effectively foster team building within and beyond his/her work group.
  • Ability to understand and evaluate technical and non-technical documents.
  • Well organized ability to meet deadlines self-starter and be able to multi-task between multiple consecutive critical tasks.
  • Cognizant of ISO quality system procedures and documents.
  • Ability to use proper English spelling grammar and legible office and business writing skills.
  • Should possess shared L3Harris values of Integrity Teamwork Excellence and Accountability.
