POSITION TITLE: ELEMENTARY SCHOOL PRINCIPAL
REPORTS TO: SUPERINTENDENT OF SCHOOLS
WORK YEAR: 12 Month (July 1 to June 30)
JOB SUMMARY/ACCOUNTABILITY: Responsible for instructional and operational leadership of a school including the supervision and evaluation of all professional employees. Will provide a clear vision for learning for all students; ensure a safe secure and orderly learning environment; and cultivate strong relationships. Responsible for implementation of curriculum and intervention motivation and direction of staff to improve educational environment and development and allocation of elementary school budget.
QUALIFICATIONS: Five (5) years teaching experience; experience in scheduling and curriculum development; masters degree; proper state certification; additional course work in management personnel and public relations and demonstrated leadership ability; prior administrative experience preferred.
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Provide supervision and direction to all professional staff and support personnel serve as a school leader with responsibility to resolve problems at the elementary school level involving staff students parents and the community
- Develop articulate and implement a clear vision for learning for all students
- Be a visible and consistent presence throughout the school
- Clearly communicate learning and development goals that reflect high expectations for learning and growth a belief that all students can learn and a commitment to meet each students educational needs
- Develop a culture of collegial and professional relationships among staff and students that promote critical reflection shared accountability and continuous improvement
- Support the professional growth of staff members in a differentiated manner based on identified needs and individual goals
- Deliberately build leadership capacity among staff
- Collect analyze and use multiple sources of data to guide continuous improvement in student achievement student and staff well-being and professional development for staff
- Lead and facilitate a multi-tiered system of support to improve academic behavioral and social-emotional outcomes for all students
- Develop and implement annual school budget including monitoring of expenditures and equipment and supply requisitions under established guidelines
- Ability to leverage technology for both instructional and administrative tasks
- Effectively communicate and collaborate with parents Home and School and stakeholder groups
- Oversee the construction of the master pupil schedule including class roster development specials scheduling testing and special events
- Implement Board policies administrative rules and procedures
- Recommend and assign instructional personnel in conjunction with the Director of Human Resources
- Manage conflict constructively at all levels
- Oversee the upkeep of school facilities and physical plant
- Comply with Federal and State requirements
- Perform other duties as may be assigned by the Superintendent
