Radio-Canada Estrie is seeking a videojournalist with sharp editorial judgment a high degree of autonomy and originality. The ideal candidate will have a strong ability to uncover and tell original stories aligned with editorial priorities. They will produce field reports and pitch a range of content for digital platforms which may also be adapted for radio and television as needed.
The successful candidate will be responsible for finding compelling off-the-beaten-path stories within their assignment area focusing on arts culture society and community life.
The videojournalist will be based in Sherbrooke and will report to Emilie Richard Delegated Executive Editor.
The successful candidate will be required to capture images using their phone and present content in a vertical format.
You must demonstrate creativity resourcefulness rigor and a high level of independence. You should have an excellent ability to make information clear and accessible. You must be able to work effectively under pressure conduct your own research gather material shape it and present it confidently across multiple platforms. Guidance and supervision will be provided.
The work schedule is variable and you must be able to travel throughout your coverage area.
All work must comply with CBC/Radio-Canada programming policies and journalistic standards and practices.
This role requires full-time on-site presence.
Profile sought:
Qualifications:
Bachelors degree or equivalent.
Three (3) years of experience in journalism or equivalent.
Skills:
Strong reporting skills.
Excellent knowledge of Premiere editing software an asset.
Strong on-air presence and dynamism.
Excellent interviewing skills.
Ability to write clearly and concisely.
Ability to generate original story ideas and approach them creatively.
Ability to work in a high-pressure environment with tight deadlines and frequent unexpected overtime.
Flexibility to regularly contribute to radio programs national television and web platforms.
Creativity in problem-solving.
Strong creativity imagination motivation and synthesis skills.
Excellent interpersonal skills.
Ability to communicate in French.
Good knowledge of English is an asset.
Valid drivers license.
Selected candidates will be required to undergo:
French language and general knowledge tests.
Interview.
