Diesel Mechanic

We are seeking an experiencedQualified Diesel Mechanicto join our workshop team at our Wingfield facility. This is anautonomous hands-on roleworking on a modern fleet of heavy vehicles reporting directly to theWorkshop PM Shift Supervisor.

About the Role

You will be responsible for the maintenance diagnostics and repair of heavy on-road trucks ensuring all work meets safety quality and NHVR compliance standards. The role suits a self-motivated mechanic with strong diagnostic capability and experience working independently.

You will work across a fleet that includesVolvo Scania Iveco and Isuzuvehicles.

Pay Rate:$50.25 per hour

Shift Options

• AM Shift:
  Monday - Friday: 6:00am 2:30pm
  (½ hour unpaid meal break)

• PM Shift:

  • Monday Thursday: 2:00pm 10:30pm
  • Friday: 1:00pm 9:30pm
    (½ hour unpaid meal break)

Key Responsibilities

• Diagnose service and repair heavy on-road trucks
• Perform mechanical fault finding and breakdown repairs
• Ensure compliance with NHVR and safety standards
• Work with hydraulic and CANbus systems
• Maintain accurate service and repair records

Essential Requirements

• Trade-qualifiedOn-Road Truck / Diesel Mechanic
• CurrentHR Licence
• Strong diagnostic and fault-finding skills
• Sound knowledge of NHVR standards

Desirable Experience

• Auto electrical knowledge
• Experience in the waste industry
• Exposure to hydraulics and CANbus systems
