Duties & Responsabilities
- Performs highly complex tests and analyses to ensure products meet established specifications (focus on performing microbiological analyses).
- Performs highly complex calculations and prepares documentation showing the results of the tests performed.
- Collects and compiles data on recurring product defects.
- Reviews and approves data documented in logbooks/forms and release systems.
- Implements work processes measurements and performance metrics to identify areas for improvement (review and creation of documents).
- Attends meetings with clients suppliers and associates to understand standards and expectations.
- Supports process improvement teams.
- Monitors and examines internal/external complaints and compiles data to be used in reports.
- Gathers details on defective products and materials.
- Participates in health safety and environmental committees and others.
- Participates in and/or leads projects for the company.
- Responsible for communicating business-related problems or opportunities to the next level of management.
- Responsible for ensuring compliance leading investigations and implementing improvements as well as trend analysis.
- Responsible for receiving and assisting in internal and external audits as well as organizing and preparing the area.
- Performs equipment qualification and implementation in the area as well as asset controls.
- Performs methodological validation and/or supports process validations when necessary focusing on microbiological testing.
- Assists in the supplier and purchasing control process.
EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION
- Bachelors degree in Biological Sciences (Pharmacy Biology Biomedicine Biotechnology among others)
- Minimum of 4 years of experience in a Microbiology Laboratory
- Advanced English (verbal and written communication in English)
- Extensive experience in a Microbiology laboratory is mandatory
- Masters degree or postgraduate studies (preferred)
- Knowledge of basic statistics
- Knowledge and study of ISO and Pharmacopoeias
- Experience in audits
- Knowledge of Basic Quality Tools and Microsoft Office suite
- Skills in prioritizing follow-up and control
- Computer skills including digital tools (use of AI and Power BI is a plus)
- Verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to track results and metrics
- Teamwork skills
