Junior Planner
Overview
We are currently strengthening our team by recruiting a Junior Planner to support global industrial projects. The role is part of the Project Controls & Analytics function within an Engineering & Construction environment focused on delivering large-scale low-carbon industrial projects.
The selected candidate will be based in Portugal and integrated into a dynamic and multicultural team.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop monitor and analyse project schedules.
- Perform planning and scheduling activities across the full project lifecycle from development to delivery.
- Review and analyse contractor and supplier schedules.
- Conduct time impact analysis delay analysis and support extension of time claims.
- Collaborate with Engineering Procurement Construction and Project Management teams.
- Evaluate planning procedures and propose improvements.
- Apply standard planning methodologies tools and best practices.
- Develop and maintain Work Breakdown Structures (WBS).
- Ensure schedule accuracy and consistency of project data.
- Coordinate planning activities meetings and reporting.
- Perform baseline tracking what-if analysis and contingency planning.
- Support planning of fabrication installation and maintenance activities.
Reporting & Controls
Prepare and maintain reports including:
- Baseline data (planned dates progress manhours/units)
- Actual performance data (progress earned values)
- Forecast data (dates resources)
- Schedule Performance Index (SPI)
- Cost Performance Index (CPI)
- Milestone Trend Analysis (MTA)
- Project KPIs
- S-curves (progress and manhours)
- Critical path analysis
- Short-term lookahead schedules
Requirements
Qualifications
- Bachelors degree in Engineering or related field
- Experience in sectors such as Power Oil & Gas Refining or Petrochemical (preferred)
- Proficiency in Primavera P6 and MS Project
- Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel
- Availability for international travel (short and medium term)
- Fluent in English (additional languages are a plus)
