Job Summary

Junior Planner


Overview

We are currently strengthening our team by recruiting a Junior Planner to support global industrial projects. The role is part of the Project Controls & Analytics function within an Engineering & Construction environment focused on delivering large-scale low-carbon industrial projects.

The selected candidate will be based in Portugal and integrated into a dynamic and multicultural team.


Key Responsibilities

  • Develop monitor and analyse project schedules.
  • Perform planning and scheduling activities across the full project lifecycle from development to delivery.
  • Review and analyse contractor and supplier schedules.
  • Conduct time impact analysis delay analysis and support extension of time claims.
  • Collaborate with Engineering Procurement Construction and Project Management teams.
  • Evaluate planning procedures and propose improvements.
  • Apply standard planning methodologies tools and best practices.
  • Develop and maintain Work Breakdown Structures (WBS).
  • Ensure schedule accuracy and consistency of project data.
  • Coordinate planning activities meetings and reporting.
  • Perform baseline tracking what-if analysis and contingency planning.
  • Support planning of fabrication installation and maintenance activities.


Reporting & Controls

Prepare and maintain reports including:

  • Baseline data (planned dates progress manhours/units)
  • Actual performance data (progress earned values)
  • Forecast data (dates resources)
  • Schedule Performance Index (SPI)
  • Cost Performance Index (CPI)
  • Milestone Trend Analysis (MTA)
  • Project KPIs
  • S-curves (progress and manhours)
  • Critical path analysis
  • Short-term lookahead schedules





Requirements

Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree in Engineering or related field
  • Experience in sectors such as Power Oil & Gas Refining or Petrochemical (preferred)
  • Proficiency in Primavera P6 and MS Project
  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel
  • Availability for international travel (short and medium term)
  • Fluent in English (additional languages are a plus)
