Qualifications:
College hours high school diploma or GED
Ability to work within deadlines and handle interruptions
Thorough understanding of insurance terminology
Excellent communication skills
Knowledge of file management system
Expertise with calculator and personal computer
Work with confidential material
Ability to organize and work with other departments
Detail oriented
Ability to supervise others
Primary Purpose:
Coordinate the administration of all employee benefit programs to include training eligibility and enrollment of employees management of clerical staff and employee benefits vendor management.
Major Duties and Responsibilities:
- Provide oversight and management of overall administration and issue resolution including:
- Medical
- Pharmacy
- Supplemental Benefits
- Health Savings Accounts
Work with vendors to address issues and bring successful conclusions.
Ensure premium reconciliatios are completed and reviewed on a monthly basis.Coordinate COBRA administration.Coordinate open enrollment for internal and external stakeholders.
Update plan documents as necessary.
Coordinate the direct bill process and manage collection process.
Make certain that all QMESCO activity is current.
Work with HR and Payroll to ensure premiums are appropriate and timely.
Assist in the communication effort of the health plan to staff.
Act as a liaison for employee claim and premium issues.
Actively participate in new employee orientation.
Develop relationships with stake holders in the District.
Ensure compliance with the ACA and other regulatory agencies.
Equipment Used:
Personal computer printer copier calculator phone and fax machine.
Working Conditions:
Work with frequent interruptions maintain emotional control under stress. Occasional prolonged and irregular hours. Occasional travel. Occasional lifting bending stooping squatting standing and prolonged sitting and repetitive motions of the hand.
