About the unit
Gerber Med Surg is 13 beds. 4 are observation and 9 are inpatient. The unit is currently undergoing a refresh new paint flooring and artwork in the halls and patient rooms in addition to a new nurses station breakroom and staff bathroom. Gerber Med Surg is home to our largest patient population and is a cornerstone of the hospital. We offer telemedicine services in pulmonology neurology infectious disease and wound. Coming soon to Gerber are telemedicine palliative care services. We have MRI services 6 days a week CT fluoroscopy general and orthopedic surgery care management medical social workers all on site a huge push for the Gerber team is to help keep quality care local.
Gerber ICU is 11 beds 2 of those are observation beds 9 are inpatient beds. The ICU is going to be refreshed with new paint flooring and artwork. It is a mixed unit so Med/Surg and ICU patients are both present. We offer telemedicine services in pulmonology neurology infectious disease wound and VICU. Coming soon to Gerber is telemedical palliative care services. We have MRI services 6 days a week CT fluoroscopy general surgery and orthopedic surgery care management medical social workers all on site. A huge push for the Gerber team is to help keep quality care local.

Scope of work
Nurse Technicians act as a team member in the delivery of quality patient care under the supervision of a Registered Nurse (RN). Responsibilities include taking vitals checking blood sugars bed bathing ambulating wound care catheterization and acting as a safety attendant for patients environment / work area / equipment and communicates any equipment malfunctions to appropriate department / unit personnel. Demonstrates a high standard of moral and ethical behavior. Advocates for privacy confidentiality and security of patient staff and organization data.

Qualifications
Required High School Diploma or equivalent.
Basic Life Support (BLS) Cert required within 90 days
