For our Mexico City site in Mexico we are searching for a: Confectionary Technical service/application specialist.

Job Purpose And Impact

You will provide technical support to customers across Mexico and Central America mainly in the Confectionary Category and successfully apply our high performing functional ingredients to new and existing customer portfolios. You will proactively meet and exceed customer expectations using your technical expertise application and category knowledge guidance and advice. You will be hands on for the full product development lifecycle from understanding the clients needs reviewing process and formulations making recommendations for cost saving developing customer solutions using our innovative ingredients carrying out trials presenting findings moving from pilot plant production environments through to launch.

Key functions and responsibilities:

  • Act as a technical leader for selected accounts you will be working closely with clients across Mexico and Central America region with travel as required. Providing skillful customer technical support strengthening customer relationships and delivering customer solutions.

  • Prioritize and create your own agenda projects managing efficiently your time and available resources based on companys objectives.

  • Youll be working independently but also collaborating with commercial Marketing and scientific colleagues to develop and execute technical strategies that will drive growth for our food solutions business.

  • As a Technical partner of customers you will be responsible for reviewing customer processes and formulations making suitable recommendations to meet customer expectations for cost management quality improvements or new product development. Also for creating the respective technical and follow up reports using the internal company tools.

  • Using your scientific background and expertise you will utilize laboratory and pilot plant equipment to conduct trials to show performance of our based science solutions.

  • Provide technical support either virtually or on-site

  • Keep application and value collection up to date in the systems.

  • You will deliver technical trainings (mainly for Sales Tech Service and Customers) as per company training programs and provide ideas for a continuous improvement of the trainings themselves.

  • Other duties as assigned

Minumum Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree in food chemistry Food Engineering. a related field or equivalent experience

  • Minimum of 7 years of related work experience in Confectionary. (other categories experience are a plus)

  • Food manufacturing or application laboratory experience

  • Proven experience in protocol development

  • Médium upper medium English level

  • Good organizational planning and prioritizing skills

  • Demonstrated project leadership

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master Degree within technical/scientific field or similar education

  • MSc in Food Science/Technology or Food Chemistry is a plus

  • 7 years experience in a technical role within the food industry

  • Good understanding of the Food Business and its dynamics

  • Experience with starches sweeteners fibers or hydrocolloids is in the Confectionary industry is required knowledge and experience in other categories is a plus

  • Excellent knowledge of food technology food processing and food development

  • Customer focused and solution-oriented approach

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills in a multinational environment

  • Positive mindset can-do attitude

  • Commercially driven savvy

  • Willingness to travel (30% of year)
