Role Overview
A highly renowned organization in collaboration with the Technology and Innovation procurement team is seeking a Procurement Specialist to support the delivery of technology-related procurements.
The successful candidate will be responsible for managing procurement activities across multiple technology projects ensuring compliance with public sector procurement policies trade agreements and governance standards.
Key Responsibilities
Develop procurement and contracting documentation aligned with business objectives and public sector procurement standards
Support development of procurement recommendations including resource needs dependencies policy considerations and contracting methodology
Prepare and present procurement deliverables to internal teams steering committees and stakeholders
Manage procurement activities across multiple projects ensuring alignment with governance requirements
Collaborate with business and IT leadership to define procurement project plans including scope timelines risks benefits and budgets
Monitor and report on procurement project status milestones issues and deliverables
Develop and maintain procurement schedules resource plans and work plans
Provide guidance to project teams on procurement priorities and delivery expectations
Ensure compliance with government procurement policies standards and trade agreements
Required Qualifications and Experience
Bachelors degree in Business Supply Chain Commerce Public Administration or related field
Minimum 5 years experience in complex competitive procurement
Minimum 8 years experience in contract drafting and contract management
Minimum 8 years experience advising stakeholders
Minimum 8 years experience in public sector procurement (government or similar entities)
Minimum 7 years experience with government trade agreements
Experience developing procurement documentation and managing end-to-end procurement processes
Nice to Have
Procurement designation (SCMP CPPB CPPO CSPM or equivalent)
Experience supporting digital transformation initiatives
Experience in financial and risk assessment (5 years)
Experience in IT procurement (5 years)
Additional Information
Employer will provide all required equipment
Work is primarily remote but must be performed within Alberta
On-site attendance may be required occasionally (travel not reimbursed)
Mandatory training includes FOIP security awareness and other government compliance training
Enhanced security clearance is required and will be coordinated by the client
