Health & Safety Specialist

Location: Warren OH

ClevelandCliffs has an immediate opportunity for a Health & Safety Specialist at our Warren Ohio facility. This role provides leadership and technical expertise to support a proactive preventionbased approach to occupational health and safety. The Health & Safety Specialist serves as an effective facilitator and trusted advisor to leadership and employees ensuring strong safety performance OSHA compliance and continuous improvement across the facility.

Summary of Responsibilities:

• Actively participate in and support the company and site Serious Injury and Fatality (SIF) Prevention Program

• Engage with employees at all levels of the organization to identify address and resolve health and safety concerns

• Support the Cleveland-Cliffs health and safety programs protocols and management systems.

• Participate in the Joint Safety and Health program with local union and company leadership.

• Serve as a coach and mentor to line managers and supervisors supporting execution of safety leadership responsibilities

• Investigate review and respond to employee safety and health issues concerns and improvement suggestions

• Communicate injuries and safety-related incidents to operations leadership and the Manager of Health Safety and Security as directed

• Participate in and lead injury and incident investigations including root cause analysis and corrective action development

• Support and participate in regulatory inspections as assigned

• Develop conduct and coordinate safety training for employees new hires contractors and vendors

• Perform safety audits and inspect facilities machinery and equipment to identify hazards and ensure regulatory compliance

• Provide technical guidance and mentoring related to safety initiatives OSHA regulations and industry best practices

• Collect analyze and trend safety data (e.g. injuries illnesses nearmisses work orders audits inspections investigations)

• Demonstrate flexibility in work schedule including extended hours and weekends as operational needs require

• Perform other duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications:

• Bachelors degree or 35 years of experience in a heavy industrial environment

• Experience working in a manufacturing facility

• Strong working knowledge of OSHA and applicable regulatory requirements

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills

• Ability to work independently promote teamwork earn trust and lead by example

Preferred Qualifications:

• Bachelors degree in Safety Health Industrial Hygiene or a related field

• Professional safety certification (CSP CIH ASP or similar)

• Experience working in a unionized manufacturing environment
