Job Summary

The Department of Biochemistry at Brandeis University invites applications for a full-time Assistant Professor position to begin July 1 2026. The position carries a two-year appointment with the possibility of renewal and is outside the tenure structure.

Teaching responsibilities will span the Biochemistry and Biology/HSSP programs and include an introductory and advanced introductory biochemistry class (BCHM 88 and BCHM 100) a project lab in protein biochemistry (BIOL 251) an elective course targeting Biochemistry majors (e.g. BIBC 126 Molecular Mechanisms of Disease) and an elective course appropriate for non-majors (e.g. CDSC 7
Culinary Chemistry) totaling five courses per year.

Requirements for the position include a Ph.D. in biochemistry or a related field and a strong commitment to teaching and mentoring students at the undergraduate level. The salary range for this position is $67 000 to $85000 commensurate with experience.
