Position Summary

The Assistant CTSO Advisor provides support and guidance for the assigned Career and Technical Student

Organization (CTSO) chapter or program. The role assists the Head Advisor in leadership development

student supervision program activities competitions and related responsibilities. The Assistant Advisor

ensures students are supported in developing skills professionalism and engagement within the CTSO

program.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

Program Support & Implementation

  • Assistant the HeadCTSO in planning organizing and facilitating meetings activities and program initiatives.
  • Support student participation in competitions conferences and leadership events.
  • Help coordinate logistics registrations and travel arrangements for events.
  • Assist in training and mentoring student officers and team leaders.
  • Support the implementation of program curriculum or projects as appropriate.

Student Development & Supervision

  • Promote leadership teamwork professionalism and career readiness among students.
  • Provide guidance and supervision during meetings competitions events and travel.
  • Foster a safe inclusive and positive learning environment.

Compliance & Communication

  • Ensure activities comply with District policies program guidelines and relevant state/national CTSO requirements.
  • Communicate effectively with students staff administration and community stakeholders regarding schedules expectations and participation.
  • Collaborate with the Head Advisor and school staff to align program activities with curriculum and CTSO objectives.

Program Management

  • Assist with budgeting fundraising and management of chapter funds under the direction of the Head Advisor.
  • Support record-keeping of membership participation competition results and required documentation.
  • Help maintain equipment materials and resources necessary for CTSO activities.

Other Duties

  • Attend meetings professional development and events as required.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Education & Experience

  • Bachelors degree required; Bachelors Degree in Education or related CTSO field preferred.
  • Experience with student organizations CTSO programs or leadership development preferred.
  • Willingness to complete CTSO- specific advisor training preferred.

Knowledge Skills & Abilities

  • Knowledge of CTSO programs leadership development and career pathways.
  • Ability to mentor and guide students in leadership professionalism and program-related skills.
  • Strong organizational communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with students staff parents/guardians and community/industry partners.
  • Ability to supervise students safely during meetings activities and travel.
  • Ability to promote a safe inclusive and productive environment.

Physical & Environmental Requirements


Physical Requirements

  • Ability to sit stand walk and actively supervise students for extended periods.
  • Ability to lift and move materials and equipment as needed.

Work Environment

  • Exposure to indoor and outdoor school and event environments.
  • Evening weekend and some summer hours required for meetings competitions and activities.
  • Travel may be required for local state and national CTSO events.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

Program Leadership

  • Serve as the primary advisor for the schools UCS program.
  • Plan organize and supervise Unified Champion Schools activities meetings and initiatives.
  • Coordinate and support Unified Sports inclusive clubs and related school activities.
  • Work collaboratively with the UCS Coach and other staff to support inclusive athletic and extracurricular activities.

Student Leadership and Development

  • Promote social inclusion teamwork and respect among all students.
  • Mentor and support student leaders and club officers.
  • Encourage student participation in leadership service and awareness activities that promote inclusion.
  • Foster a positive environment that supports leadership development and student engagement.

Program Coordination and Events

  • Organize school-wide events awareness campaigns and activities that promote inclusion.
  • Assist with coordinating student participation in local or state Unified Champion Schools or Special Olympics events.
  • Support fundraising or service projects that enhance the program and student involvement.

Administration and Collaboration

  • Maintain records of student participation meetings and program activities.
  • Collaborate with teachers staff and administration to promote inclusive practices across the school.
  • Communicate with parents/guardians staff and administration regarding activities and program updates.
  • Build partnerships with community organizations and local Special Olympics affiliates.

Other Duties

  • Attend meetings clinics and professional development as required.
  • Complete required documentation reports and records related to the program.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Education & Experience

  • Bachelors degree required; Bachelors Degree in Education preferred.
  • Previous experience working with students of diverse abilities preferred.

Knowledge Skills & Abilities

  • Knowledge of Special Olympics Unified Champion Schools policies and procedures.
  • Knowledge of leadership principles for student development and inclusion.
  • Ability to mentor and guide students in leadership teamwork and social inclusion.
  • Strong organizational communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with students parents/guardians staff and administration.
  • Ability to promote a safe inclusive and academically focused environment.
