Job Description

A leading organisation is seeking a skilled Project Coordinator to support project managers in the successful execution of building and construction projects. This role is ideal for a professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment and brings strong technical expertise organisational ability and stakeholder coordination skills to the table.

Responsibilities:

  • Support the planning execution and control of building and construction projects
  • Monitor project plans schedules budgets and expenditures to ensure timely delivery
  • Coordinate stakeholder meetings and ensure clear communication across all project phases
  • Provide technical advice on construction-related matters and regulatory compliance
  • Manage tender processes including preparation coordination and administration
  • Oversee procurement of materials equipment and services
  • Maintain accurate building records site plans and project documentation
  • Ensure planned and preventative maintenance for relevant buildings
  • Conduct research into innovative and cost-effective construction methods
  • Assist with zoning applications certifications and compliance requirements
  • Contribute to policy and procedure development within the department
  • Report on operational activities and support budgeting cost analysis and financial control

Requirements:

  • Grade 12
  • Relevant degree or diploma in Quantity Surveying Project Management Facility Management or Building & Construction Management
  • Technical Trade Test Certificate
  • 810 years experience within a building and construction environment
  • 56 years proven experience managing building projects at project management level
  • Strong knowledge of construction design maintenance tenders and risk management
  • Solid understanding of project management methodologies and best practices
  • Knowledge of relevant legislation including SANS SABS OHS Act and the National Environmental Management Act
  • Proficiency in cost and financial management principles
  • Experience in contract management SLAs and general administrative processes
