Job Description
A leading organisation is seeking a skilled Project Coordinator to support project managers in the successful execution of building and construction projects. This role is ideal for a professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment and brings strong technical expertise organisational ability and stakeholder coordination skills to the table.
Responsibilities:
- Support the planning execution and control of building and construction projects
- Monitor project plans schedules budgets and expenditures to ensure timely delivery
- Coordinate stakeholder meetings and ensure clear communication across all project phases
- Provide technical advice on construction-related matters and regulatory compliance
- Manage tender processes including preparation coordination and administration
- Oversee procurement of materials equipment and services
- Maintain accurate building records site plans and project documentation
- Ensure planned and preventative maintenance for relevant buildings
- Conduct research into innovative and cost-effective construction methods
- Assist with zoning applications certifications and compliance requirements
- Contribute to policy and procedure development within the department
- Report on operational activities and support budgeting cost analysis and financial control
Requirements:
- Grade 12
- Relevant degree or diploma in Quantity Surveying Project Management Facility Management or Building & Construction Management
- Technical Trade Test Certificate
- 810 years experience within a building and construction environment
- 56 years proven experience managing building projects at project management level
- Strong knowledge of construction design maintenance tenders and risk management
- Solid understanding of project management methodologies and best practices
- Knowledge of relevant legislation including SANS SABS OHS Act and the National Environmental Management Act
- Proficiency in cost and financial management principles
- Experience in contract management SLAs and general administrative processes
