BilingualESL Curriculum Coach

QUALIFICATIONS:

1. Bachelors degree from a recognized accredited college or university with additional graduate study or a Masters degree preferred;
2. Bilingual certification required;
3. Valid Texas teachers certificate;
4. Minimum of five (5) years of successful experience as a bilingual teacher;
5. Demonstrated skill in leading motivating coaching and cooperating with other teachers;
6. Successful experience with at-risk students and flexible regrouping language arts;
7. Communication skills in Spanish or other languages are preferred.

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:

Probationary/Term Contract: 197 days

SALARY:

IA-3: $67640

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

1. Provide ongoing professional development to teachers of Emergent Bilingual (EB) students.
2. Provide campus support to improve Emergent Bilingual student achievement.
3. Support campuses with teacher planning share sessions and professional development.
4. Provide training support to teachers on the ELPS and TEKS.
5. Observe model lessons and provide feedback to EB teachers.
6. Train teachers on the implementation and delivery of linguistic accommodations and strategies.
7. Assist in curriculum development that targets differentiation and language development.
8. Support teachers with certification test preparation including those on state exception and waiver.
9. Collaborate with human resources on recruitment of bilingual and ESL teachers.
10. Improve student achievement by monitoring student data including state and district assessments.
11. Communicate and collaborate with EB curriculum coaches and Director on student progress.
12. Collaborate with content area coordinators and curriculum coaches to plan professional development.
13. Other duties assigned by the Director of Curriculum and Instruction for Special Populations.

Maintain emotional control under stress. Frequent standing stooping bending pulling and pushing. Move small stacks of textbooks media equipment desks and other classroom equipment.
