Integration Architect

The Integration Architect is responsible for defining governing and assuring the integration architecture across enterprise systems applications and data platforms. The role ensures that integrations are scalable secure resilient and aligned with enterprise architecture standards business strategy and regulatory requirements.

This role acts as the design authority for integrations bridging business requirements and technical implementation and providing architectural leadership across programmes and delivery teams.

Integration Architecture & Design

• Define and own the enterprise integration architecture working with the Senior Integration Architect including patterns principles and reference architectures (e.g. APIled eventdriven batch pointtopoint avoidance).
• Design endtoend integration solutions across onpremise cloud and SaaS platforms.
• Select appropriate integration styles and technologies based on functional and nonfunctional requirements (performance scalability security resilience).
• Produce architectural artefacts including integration diagrams data flows interface contracts and sequence diagrams.

Governance & Standards

• Establish and enforce integration standards design patterns naming conventions and best practices.
• Be part of the Design Authority for integrations reviewing and approving solution designs.
• Ensure integrations comply with security data protection privacy and regulatory requirements (e.g. GDPR crossborder data transfer constraints).
• Guard against unnecessary pointtopoint integrations and technical debt.

Delivery & Assurance

• Support delivery teams during build and deployment providing architectural guidance and resolving design issues.
• Collaborate with developers platform teams and vendors to ensure architectural intent is implemented correctly.
• Identify integration risks and dependencies early and propose mitigation strategies.
• Support testing strategies covering integration performance and failure scenarios.

Stakeholder & Vendor Collaboration

• Work closely with business stakeholders product owners and architects to translate business needs into integration designs.
• Engage with thirdparty vendors and system integrators to assure externally delivered integrations.
• Contribute to programme and project planning by providing integration estimates sequencing and dependencies.

Continuous Improvement

• Stay informed about emerging integration technologies and patterns (e.g. iPaaS event streaming API management).
• Continuously improve integration platforms and practices to enhance reliability agility and reuse.
• Promote reuse of APIs events and shared services across the organisation. 

Qualifications :

Skills & Experience

Essential

• Proven experience in designing and delivering enterprisescale integrations.
• Strong understanding of integration patterns and architectural tradeoffs.
• Experience working with both business and technical stakeholders.
• Ability to produce clear concise architectural documentation.
• Strong understanding of nonfunctional requirements (security performance resilience).

Desirable

• Experience in regulated or global organisations.
• Knowledge of domaindriven design eventdriven architecture or microservices.
• Experience operating as a design authority or within an architecture governance framework.
• Exposure to major ERP CRM or HR platforms (ideally Dynamics 365).
