Job Summary
The Office of University Registrar at the University of Tennessee Knoxville (UTK) invites applications and nominations for our Assistant Registrar for Faculty Services and Course Scheduling position. The minimum starting salary for this position is$59332. Final compensation will be determined based on the candidates qualifications and experience.
Responsibilities
This is an on-campus position with some hybrid/remote work schedule flexibility.
Reporting to the Associate Registrar for Faculty Services and Course Scheduling the Assistant Registrar provides leadership for the planning governance and execution of the Universitys course scheduling classroom assignment and exam scheduling functions. This position serves as a key partner to colleges departments and central campus stakeholders to ensure the integrity accuracy and timely publication of the academic schedule in the student information system (SIS) and related scheduling platforms. The Assistant Registrar leads process improvement initiatives establishes and maintains operational standards and documentation and supports institutional compliance with academic policy and records requirements as they relate to the schedule of addition the position supports faculty services initiatives through data stewardship reporting and cross-functional coordination.
Qualifications
Required Education and Experience:
Bachelors degree-
Two (2) or more years working in higher education administration
Required Knowledge Skills and Abilities:
High level of competency and skills utilizing Microsoft Office and Microsoft 365 scheduling applications interactive forms and other similar administrative and/or higher education platforms
Ability to work with high degree of accuracy
Strong analytic and critical thinking skills
Strong oral and written communication skills
Ability to prioritize projects particularly within a multi-tasking and deadline-driven environment
Ability to maintain a high level of discretion
Ability to interpret complex policies and regulations
Applicants must be legally authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis without need now or in the future for sponsorship for employment-based visa status.
Preferred Education and Experience:
Masters degree-
Two (2) or more years working in a university registrar office
Preferred Knowledge Skills and Abilities:
Knowledge of NCAA Bylaw 14 and Academic Progress Rate/Graduation Success Rate reporting
Knowledge of Tennessee state law impacting residency determinations / regulations
Experience with Banner by Ellucian or similar Student Information system
Knowledge of best practices related to FERPA and student privacy
Knowledge of the UTK undergraduate curriculum
Ability to organize and analyze information using University and third-party reporting tools
