Introduction to Role
This role leads the product strategy and delivery for two critical capabilities at the heart of how AstraZeneca runs commercial content and omnichannel operations at scale. The Work Management Tool (WMT) runs in Jira Cloud. Together with the reporting and analytics system it tracks and optimizes over 100000 outputs each year across 40 markets. Working with teams across regions and our global hubs this position shapes how work is orchestrated how data flows through our systems and how insights drive better decisions. Accountabilities
Lead the end-to-end product lifecycle for WMT and Operational Reporting & Analytics from vision and strategy through to delivery and optimization.
Own and govern product backlogs ensuring clear prioritization that balances pivotal initiatives BAU needs and technical debt.
Partner closely with Operational Excellence Business Analysts Data Engineering and development teams to translate business needs into scalable high-performing solutions.
Drive agile delivery practices supporting sprint planning backlog refinement release planning and UAT to ensure high-quality product increments.
Champion workflow standardization while enabling appropriate flexibility for local market requirements across multiple regions.
Treat operational reporting as a product evolving data models dashboards and reports to meet the needs of management finance and business partners.
Monitor adoption and usage across service lines finding opportunities to improve workflow efficiency reporting accuracy and operational visibility.
Ensure strong governance security and compliance are embedded in product design configuration and ways of working.
Communicate roadmap progress release plans and platform enhancements to leadership and operational partners in a clear compelling way.
Continuously refine intake processes and agile delivery workflows so both products co-evolve in line with the broader vision and operating model.
Essential Skills/Experience
Product Strategy & Roadmap
Define and maintain the product roadmap for both WMT and Operational Reporting & Analytics ensuring alignment with operational priorities and strategic goals.
Align product/ platform capabilities with appropriate governance frameworks and enterprise operational standards.
Enhance the value delivered the products to the C&O organization by prioritizing backlog items and aligning product development with business priorities
Product Backlog Management
Own and manage comprehensive product backlogs for WMT and Operational Reporting & Analytics
Prioritize product features enhancements and fixes based on business value operational impact and collaborator needs.
Maintain communication and transparency on backlog priorities delivery timelines and platform enhancements with key partners.
Coordinate implementation of new features platform improvements and system enhancements.
Agile Delivery & Release Management
Participate in sprint planning backlog refinement and release planning with development teams.
Ensure that product increments meet quality standards and business expectations.
Manage product releases and coordinate user acceptance testing (UAT).
Customer Collaboration
Collaborate with the Business Analyst as the primary liaisons between business partners engineering teams and analytics teams.
Collaborate with the Operational Excellence team C&O business users and Service Delivery Excellence teams to gather and refine product requirements.
Present and communicate product updates roadmap progress and enhancement plans to C&O leadership and operational collaborators.
Product Adoption & Optimization
Review platform adoption and usage to find opportunities for product improvement.
Drive adoption of new features through enablement documentation and collaborator engagement.
Continuously optimize platform capabilities to improve workflow efficiency reporting accuracy and operational visibility.
Support governance initiatives to ensure consistent use of the platforms across workspaces and markets.
Minimum Qualifications
Degree in business Technology Data Analytics Engineering or related fields.
Certification in Agile Product Management or Scrum
10 years of experience in agile product management roles e.g. scrum master business analyst product owner agile coach roles.
Experience working with Agile delivery frameworks and product backlog management in an enterprise context.
Hands-on experience with Jira or similar cloud-based work management platforms.
Familiarity with operational analytics reporting platforms (PowerBI preferred) ETL/ELT pipelines database management systems (SQL Server Snowflake preferred).
Strong partner management and collaboration skills.
Demonstrated success influencing without authority leading cross functional teams.
Ability to translate business needs into structured product requirements.
Analytical approach with focus on continuous improvement.
High accountability and ownership perspective.
Strong communication storytelling and executive ready presentation abilities.
Desirable Skills/Experience
Experience leading complex workflow products or work management platforms in a global enterprise environment.
Background in commercial operations or marketing operations within life sciences or similarly regulated industries.
Consistent track record scaling analytics products or data platforms supporting multiple customer groups.
Exposure to service delivery excellence or operational excellence initiatives across distributed teams.
Experience designing or refining standardized intake processes for demand management across multiple markets.
