Expert Engineer Senior developer

Role summary

Were modernising a missioncritical communications layer that routesmessages and files between core systems and the outside world (clients ECB etc...). As a Developer you will design build and operate resilient eventdriven services on Azure helping us evolve from legacy integrations to cloudnative containerised workloads. This role is handson and leadershiporiented: youll set engineering standards and deliver highreliability software for a regulated environment (finance or similar).

About the context:The STP tribe operates messaging and group applications that ensure data files and messages are processed seamlessly endtoend. This role directly contributes to that mission.

What youll do

• Design & deliver modern integration servicesto replace/upgrade the communications layer (message/file ingestion transformation routing delivery; synchronous and async models).
• Design for resilience and scale: apply patterns such as circuit breaker retries with backoff timeouts idempotency outbox/inbox DLQs bulkheads and compensating transactions/sagas.
• Build eventdriven systemsleveraging Azure messaging (Service Bus/Event Hubs) and/or Kafkastyle pub/sub; define contracts schemas and versioning for backward compatibility
• Develop services(.NET C# Core worker services gRPC/REST) withTDDas a default practice and strong emphasis on code quality security and performance.
• Containerise and operateworkloads on Kubernetes (OpenShift/AKS) using Helm and Gitbased pipelines (Azure DevOps). Enforce enterprise container standards: image hardening secrets via platform mechanisms TLS everywhere and Kubernetes network policies.
• Own observability: structured logging tracing and metrics (e.g. App Insights/Splunk/OpenTelemetry);
• Collaborate in an agile product setup(Scrum) contributing to backlog refinement DoR/DoD iterative delivery and crosstribe ceremonies when needed.
• Lead and mentor: pair with unblock and coach junior developers; champion engineering best practices across the squad and Communities of Practice.

Minimum qualifications

• 10 yearsof professional software engineering including5 yearsbuildingmissioncriticalorhighthroughputdistributed systems (preferably infinancial servicesor similarly regulated domains).
• Expert.NETengineer (C# .NET async/await DI testing frameworks).
• Azurehandson experience: AKS Functions Service Bus/Event Hubs Storage Key Vault Application Insights Azure DevOps (Pipelines/Repos).
• Containers & orchestration: Docker and Kubernetes (preferably AKS) Helm image lifecycle secure supply chain.
• Eventdriven architecturefundamentals: pub/sub event streaming consumer groups
• TestDriven Development (TDD)and automation mindset; CI/CD pipelines
• Provenresilience engineeringknowledge (timeouts retries circuit breaker backpressure outbox/inbox DLQ bulkhead saga).
• Ability towork autonomously

Nice to have

• Experience withKafka(selfmanaged or cloud)Azure Event Hubs orService Busat scale; schema registries
• Observability stack:OpenTelemetrySplunk distributed tracing; performance and load testing at message/filetransfer scale.
• Knowledge of secure file exchange and enterprise integration patterns
• Dapr/KEDA gRPC and API gateway experience.
• Familiarity withfinancial messagingstandards and nonfunctional controls (availability integrity confidentiality).

Ways of working

• Work in atribe/squadsetup with Product Owner Scrum Master and Solution Architect aligned to quarterly/PI objectives and Definition of Ready/Done.
• Participate in tribe ceremonies (e.g. planning SoS release boards) and crosstribe syncs when impacting shared platforms.
• Collaborate closely with platform teams forcontainer security and networkingstandards compliance.
