Skills and Competencies
Ability to successfullymanagemaintainand buildmedia relationships.
Experience leading thedevelopment andactivation ofintegrated multi-channel communications strategies and campaigns.
Strong and persuasive verbalwrittenand presentation skills (concise impactful compelling). Abilitytoinfluenceand act as a strategic advisor toseniorbusiness partners.
Experience leading and implementing the tracking analysis and reporting of media engagementcoverageand impact.
Attention to detailability to prioritize andmanage avariety of tasks under tight deadlines and the ability to solve problems creatively and effectively.
Must beaprofessional creative organizedenthusiasticand flexible individual who can work effectively both as a collaborative team member and independently.
Computer skills includingproficiencyin Microsoft Office 360 specifically Teams Word PowerPoint Excel and SharePoint;demonstratedexperience using GenAI tools and technology to power Communications activities and workflow is a plus.
Demonstratedproficiencyin artificial intelligence concepts with hands-on experience using AI tools to streamline workflows and enhance operational efficiency along with awareness of responsible and ethical AI use
Education
Bachelors degree in communicationsjournalismora relatedfield.
A minimum of 10-15 years of communications and media relations experience in a corporate environment ideally within the financial services sector.
Responsibilities
The VP External Communications plays a pivotal role on our Regional Communicationsteampositioning Moodys as a leading provider of insights on risk in the media and with other stakeholders in India and the APAC region. As a trusted communications counsellor the Mumbai-based VP leads a range of external and internal communications efforts to drive Moodys thought leadership and to enhance its brand and reputation.
Lead the development and implementation of communications strategies and campaigns and serve as a strategic advisor in support of a wide range of business units within Moodys in India and APAC.
Be responsible fordeveloping andmaintainingmedia relationships ensuring robust relationships with journalistsproducersand media outlets covering Moodys content.
Identifyopportunities for and engage in proactive media outreach through pitches interviewsbriefingsand otherearned speaking engagements as well as through targeted distributions of spokesperson commentary thought leadership research and digital content.
Respond to media inquiries by providingsolutionscontentandratings research andfacilitatingaccess to analysts economists subject matterexpertsandproduct specialists.
Responsible for communications strategy and support for Moodys market engagement conferences and events in India and the region.
Leverage GenAI/Agentic AI tools and solutions to develop integrated multi-channel outreach and compelling content and to improve communications operations and workflows.
Maintain our media contacts database lead regional media monitoring and analysis and manage our media engagement and impact tracking.
Partner with Moodys Employee Communications team on the implementation of strategic regional employee communications initiatives. Provide Communications support for senior leadership traveling in the region.
Partner with Moodys Branding team toidentifyand develop contentshowcasingMoodys regional impact and engagement as part of its global brand story
Acts as leader on the external communications team guiding and advising more junior team members.
Hybrid role based in Mumbai. Occasional weekend/out of hours isrequired.
About the Team
TheVP Communicationswill sit within Global Corporate Affairs Team as an integral part of Moodys Shared Services the branch of Moodys responsible for providing professional services to support the success of Moodys Corporationwhich includesour global Moodys Ratings & Moodys Analyticsbusinesses.
