Job Summary:
Responsible for supporting supply chain operations within a hospital setting including computerized order entry inventory management and distribution of supplies linen and equipment. Ensures timely and accurate delivery of materials maintains optimal stock levels and verifies that all equipment is in proper working condition and readily available for use.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED required
- Minimum of 1 year of relevant experience in distribution warehousing shipping & receiving logistics material handling inventory control or customer service
- Experience in a fast-paced customer-focused environment strongly preferred
- Prior hospital or healthcare experience preferred
- Familiarity with supply chain systems such as Pyxis and SAP is a plus
Key Responsibilities
- Distribute restock and manage supplies and linen in accordance with established policies and procedures
- Utilize supply chain systems (e.g. Pyxis SAP) to accurately track and document inventory movement
- Perform routine cycle counts to ensure inventory accuracy across all storage locations
- Monitor and manage product expiration dates; remove and document expired items as required
- Receive inspect and process incoming shipments including signing for deliveries and entering goods receipts into SAP
- Identify and report discrepancies in shipments to supply chain management
- Prepare and process vendor returns and ensure proper stock rotation
- Transport and stock supplies from receiving areas to designated storage locations
- Deliver supplies equipment and other items (e.g. linen medical gases) to appropriate departments in a timely manner
- Participate in scheduled inventory counts including mid-year and year-end audits
- Ensure timely completion of urgent (STAT) orders in line with service level agreements
- Provide excellent customer service when interacting with internal staff regarding supply and linen needs
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of all supply chain and storage areas
- Proactively identify and recommend process improvements to enhance operational efficiency
